Nanoparticles (NPs), due to their size, have a key position in nanotechnology as a spectrum of solutions in medicine. NPs improve the ability of active substances to penetrate various routes: transdermal, but also digestive (active endocytosis), respiratory and injection. Chitosan, an N-deacetylated derivative of chitin, is a natural biodegradable cationic polymer with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Cross-linked chitosan is an excellent matrix for the production of nanoparticles containing active substances, e.g., the extract (GBE). Chitosan nanoparticles with the extract (GBE) were obtained by ion gelation using TPP as a cross-linking agent. The obtained product was characterized in terms of morphology and size based on SEM and Zeta Sizer analyses as well as an effective encapsulation of GBE in nanoparticles-FTIR-ATR and UV-Vis analyses. The kinetics of release of the active substance in water and physiological saline were checked. Biological studies were carried out on normal and cancer cell lines to check the cytotoxic effect of GBE, chitosan nanoparticles and a combination of the chitosan nanoparticles with GBE. The obtained nanoparticles contained and released GBE encapsulated in research media. Pure NPs, GBE and a combination of NPs and the extract showed cytotoxicity against tumor cells, with no cytotoxicity against the physiological cell line.

The Mediterranean diet is a well-known dietary pattern that has gained considerable popularity worldwide for its ability to prevent the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. This is largely attributed to the use of virgin olive oil as the primary source of fat, which contains a substantial amount of squalene, a natural antioxidant. In order to enhance the delivery of squalene and amplify its effects due to its highly hydrophobic nature, herein, squalene has been incorporated into chitosan nanoparticles.

Today, curcumin's therapeutic properties are used in drug delivery systems. In this work, chitosan (CS) /Montmorillonite (MMT) hydrogels were synthesized to improve the performance of curcumin molecules. According to the results, drug release characteristics of CS/MMT/curcumin highly depend on the pH of the environment and properties of Ag nanoparticles.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to synthesize the cobalt iron oxide (CoFe) and doxorubicin (Dox)-loaded chitosan bilirubin (ChiBil) nanoparticles and to investigate the anticancer therapeutic effect of the synthesized nanoparticles under magnetic guidance in a colon cancer.
Materials And Methods: ChiBil-CoFe-Dox nanoparticles were synthesized by conjugating CoFe and Dox and then loaded onto ChiBil nanoparticles. Synthesis were characterized using thermogravimetric (TGA) analysis, inductive coupled plasma (ICP) analysis, dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta potential and field emission-transmission electron microscopy (FE-TEM).

In this study, an alginate-chitosan (AL-CS) nanocomplex decorated with vitamin C coated iron oxide nanoparticles (FeO-vit C NPs) was investigated as a novel nanoiron fortification agent. The FeO-vit C NPs decorated on AL-CS nanocomplex underwent comprehensive characterization, including zeta potential, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis confirmed the decoration of FeO-vit C NPs on AL-CS nanocomplex.
