Introduction: A common complication of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is thrombosis in the venous segment, which can impair vascular access unless a successful thrombectomy is performed.
Case Presentation: In this manuscript, we describe the case of a diabetic patient who had primary AVF in a snuff-box with subsequent superficialization of the medial vein of the forearm. Unfortunately, this section of the vein was occluded, although the fistula was patent through the cephalic vein (CV).

The purpose of this manuscript is to describe the clinical course of a 66-year-old patient with chronic kidney disease due to focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in whom an access arteriovenous fistula was created in the anatomical snuffbox. At discharge, the fistula thrill was normal. Two months later, a duplex examination revealed previously unrecognized obstruction of the mid-forearm segment of the cephalic vein; flow was maintained by a perforator into the deep venous system, which returned blood to the upper arm cephalic vein above the occlusion.

Background: In this pilot study, we describe a novel technique for creating a snuffbox fistula (SBF) and present the preliminary outcomes after 4-6 weeks of follow-up.
Methods: The study included eight male patients with a mean age of 50 years (range 36-66 years). All patients received an SBF using the modified no-touch technique (MNTT) and piggyback straight-line on-lay technique (pSLOT).

Aim: Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) dysfunction resulting from stenosis or occlusion, is a prevalent issue in end-stage renal failure patients reliant on autogenous AVFs for dialysis. Recently, a distal transradial approach (dTRA) has emerged, offering advantages such as diminished access site complications, better patient comfort and reduced risk of radial artery occlusion. Our study seeks to assess the effectiveness, outcomes and complication rates of employing dTRA for arteriovenous fistuloplasty in Singaporean patients.

Background The wrist radiocephalic arteriovenous fistula (RCAVF) is the initial suggested procedure for establishing hemodialysis vascular access (HVA) in the most distal site of the upper limb. The anatomical snuffbox arteriovenous fistula (SBAVF) is barely utilised, despite its remote location. In this study, we aimed to analyse and compare the results of SBAVF and RCAVF in terms of their maturity, patency, and failure rates.
