Background: Atherosclerosis (AS) is the major cause of cardiovascular disease. Using integrated single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing data of atherosclerosis, we aimed to investigate the cell phenotype, intercellular communication, and potential therapeutic target in AS.
Methods: Single-cell sequencing data from aortic arch of Apoe mice in normal diet (ND) and high fat diet (HFD) groups (obtained from GSE206239) were analyzed by Seurat, singleR, ReactomeGSA, and cellchat package.

Villins are versatile, multifunctional actin regulatory proteins. They promote actin stabilization and remodeling mainly via their actin bundling and Ca-dependent severing activities, respectively. Arabidopsis subclass II and III villins normally coexist in cells, but the biological significance of their coexistence remains unknown.

LIM proteins are named after the initials of three proteins Lin-11, Isl-1, and MEC-3, which belong to a class of transcription factors that play an important role in the developmental regulation of eukaryotes and are also involved in a variety of life processes, including gene transcription, the construction of the cytoskeleton, signal transduction, and metabolic regulation. Plant LIM proteins have been shown to regulate actin bundling in different cells, but their role in immunity remains elusive. Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) are a family of conserved serine/threonine protein kinases that link upstream receptors to their downstream targets.

Invasive membrane protrusions play a central role in a variety of cellular processes. Unlike filopodia, invasive protrusions are mechanically stiff and propelled by branched actin polymerization. However, how branched actin filaments are organized to create finger-like invasive protrusions is unclear.

Background: Biomarkers can be used to assess the severity of spinal muscular atrophy (5q SMA; SMA). Despite their potential, the relationship between biomarkers and clinical outcomes in SMA remains underexplored. This study aimed to assess the association among biomarkers, phenotypes, and motor milestones in Chinese patients diagnosed with SMA.
