Unlabelled: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of systemic chemotherapy combined with radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of inoperable colorectal cancer with liver metastasis.
Materials And Methods: The authors conducted a retrospective cohort analysis on 30 patients diagnosed as colorectal cancer with liver metastasis who underwent systemic chemotherapy combined with radiofrequency ablation of the liver lesions from January 2017 to August 2020 at our institution. Responses was evaluated by International Working Group on Image-guided Tumor Ablation criteria, along with progression-free survival.
Results: The response rate after 4 cycles and 8 cycles of chemotherapy were 73.3% and 85.2%, respectively. All patients achieved responses after of radiofrequency therapy, with the rates of complete response and partial response were 63.3% and 36.7%. The median progression-free survival was 16.7 months. After radiotherapy ablation, all patients had mild to moderate hepatic pain, 10% of patients had fever and increased liver enzymes occurred in 90% of patients.
Conclusions: Systemic chemotherapy combined with radiofrequency ablation was safe and effective in colorectal cancer with liver metastasis and warrants further large-scale studies.

Background: Mirvetuximab Soravtansine (MIRV) is a promising antibody‒drug conjugate (ADC) that targets folate receptor alpha (FRα), which is overexpressed in several types of solid tumors. In November 2022, MIRV was approved in the USA for the treatment of adult patients with FRα-positive, platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who received 1-3 prior systemic treatment regimens. Therefore, high-quality evidence for its efficacy and safety in different cancers is urgently needed.

Food allergies are a global health problem that continues to grow annually, with a prevalence of more than 10%. Shrimp allergy is the most common and life-threatening allergy. There is no cure for food allergies, but shrimp allergen extract (SAE) offers promise as a treatment through allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT).

Background: Exposure of critically ill patients to antibiotics lead to intestinal dysbiosis, which often manifests as antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Faecal microbiota transplantation restores gut microbiota and may lead to faster resolution of diarrhoea.
Methods: Into this prospective, multi-centre, randomized controlled trial we will enrol 36 critically ill patients with antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.

Cervical cancer remains a significant health challenge in developing countries are high due to low HPV vaccination rates, delayed diagnosis, and restricted healthcare access. Metal nanomaterials, such as copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles (NPs), have shown significant promise in cancer therapy due to their ability to induce apoptosis. 5-Fluorouracil (5-Fu) enhances the cytotoxic effect against cervical cancer, working synergistically with CuO NPs to maximize the therapeutic impact while potentially reducing the 5-Fu's systemic side effects.

Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpes virus (KSHV), also known as human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8), is the primary etiologic cause of Kaposi sarcoma (KS) and KSHV Inflammatory Cytokine Syndrome (KICS). Patients with KICS demonstrate symptoms of systemic inflammation, high KSHV viral load, elevation of inflammatory markers, and increased mortality. Management requires rapid diagnosis, treatment of underlying HIV, direct treatment of KS, and addressing the hyperimmune response.
