N-TiO/Ni(OH) nanofiber was successfully prepared by combining the electrospinning and solvothermal method. It has been found that under visible light irradiation, the as-obtained nanofiber exhibits excellent activity for the photodegradation of rhodamine B, and the average degradation rate reaches 3.1%/min. Further insight investigations reveal that such a high activity was mainly due to the heterostructure-induced increase in the charge transfer rate and separation efficiency.

The plasmonic metal doping on the UV-active metal oxide nanoparticle turns the resultant plasmonic metal-metal oxide (PMMO) into visible light active and upon exogenous illumination the photogenerated energetic charge carriers and the generated reactive oxygen species (ROS, e.g. ·OH and O ) authoritatively enhances its biological and catalytic activity.

The fabrication of dual-quantum dot heterostructures offers a promising strategy to enhance the environmental remediation performance of photocatalysts. Herein, a BiWO-based Z-scheme heterojunction was constructed by incorporating carbonized polymer dots (CPDs) and CdS quantum dots (QDs) via a microwave-assisted solvothermal method. The 1 wt% CPDs/CdS QDs/BiWO (CCBW-1) composite achieved optimal Cr(VI) removal, reaching 97.

This study reports on the facile development of star-shaped gold nanoparticles via seed-mediated growth protocol. Gold nanostars (AuNSTs) demonstrated average particle size of 48 nm using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Chemical composition of AuNSTs was verifired using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) mapping.

A series of flexible polyacrylonitrile/TiO (PAN/P25) multi-porous nanotubular membranes were successfully constructed by facile electrospinning combined with an ethylene glycol solvothermal induce strategy. The effects of P25 dosage and solvothermal time on the morphology of samples were systematically investigated, which were characterized in terms of surface morphology, microstructure, specific surface area, thermal analysis, wettability, photoelectrochemical and fluorescence spectra. Rhodamine B (RhB) and () were employed as simulated pollutants to evaluate photocatalytic degradation and antibacterial properties of the PAN/P25-3 multi-porous nanotubular membrane.

We have developed a novel S-scheme mechanism to expand the photoresponse range of BiSiO. This study reports the successful creation of a CN/BS heterojunction photocatalyst, which is composed of g-CN and BiSiO. The synthesis was achieved through a simple two-step procedure, involving hydrothermal treatment and subsequent calcination.
