Background: : A good anesthesia not only makes the patient comfortable during surgery, but also has a huge impact on the postoperative recovery. It also makes the operating surgeon carry out each step of the surgery precisely and beautifully. The art of giving a good local anesthesia is to be learnt and practiced not only by anesthetists, but also by the practicing ophthalmologists.
Purpose: : This video gives an overview of anatomy in terms of the nerve supply of the orbit, the surface marking, and the techniques of giving regional and nerve blocks.
Synopsis: : In this video, we describe the anatomy, the surface marking, the technique of regional anesthesia including peribulbar, retrobulbar, and subtenon blocks and of nerve blocks, specifically of facial, frontal nerve and its branches, infraorbital, nasociliary, infratrochlear, and dorsal nasal nerves, with their application in ocular plastic surgery.
Highlights: : This video highlights the essence of providing appropriate and good anesthesia so that the surgeon works in an optimal field with maximum comfort to the patients. Video link https://youtu.be/h8EgTMQAsyE.

Purpose: To determine whether preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can reliably determine intraoperative measurements in the Vertiflex Interspinous Spacer (ISS) procedure.
Methods: Patients who underwent Vertiflex ISS with Lumbar Spinal Stenosis (LSS) and a preoperative MRI available in picture archiving and communication system (PACS) between January 2013 to February 2023 were identified retrospectively from the University of Chicago Medical Center Database. An experienced board-certified pain specialist and well-trained 2nd-year medical student independently performed measurements of the interspinous space where Vertiflex ISSs of various sizes are inserted.

Background: We intended to observe the effects of different doses of remimazolam besylate via intravenous induction on the quality of sedation and cardiac function in elderly patients.
Methods: A total of 135 ASA I-III patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy were selected. They were divided into three groups and they were randomized.

The risk of poor surgical site healing in patients with spinal tuberculosis due to infection is known to be higher than in other surgical patients. Early identification and diagnosis are critical if we are to reduce the disability and mortality associated with spinal tuberculosis. We aimed to develop and validate a novel predictive score for predicting the risk of poor surgical site healing in patients following surgical procedure for spinal tuberculosis.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of esketamine-based patient-controlled intravenous analgesia following total hip arthroplasty.
Methods: A total of 135 total hip arthroplasty patients were randomly assigned to one of the three treatment groups: esketamine, sufentanil or continuous fascia iliaca compartment block (FICB) group. The primary endpoint was the postoperative visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores at rest and on movement.

Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction aims to improve knee stability and range of motion. The AperFix system consists of polymer components, and fixed-loop fixation is an established endoscopic technique. Our aim in this study was to compare the long-term clinical and radiological results of AperFix and fixed-loop fixation and to prove that the long-term results of the AperFix fixation method are at least as good as those of the fixed loop device.
