Unlabelled: Carotid Blowout Syndrome (CBS) is a rare and life-threatening condition that necessitates prompt intervention to prevent fatal hemorrhage. This study compares the outcomes of two primary endovascular approaches: reconstructive interventions, which aim to preserve carotid artery function using stents or balloon angioplasty, and deconstructive interventions, which involve vessel occlusion to halt bleeding. A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed by searching multiple databases for relevant studies published from January 2000 to August 2023.

An a (AEF) is a rare but life-threatening condition where an abnormal connection forms between the aorta and the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly the duodenum. It can be primary (arising spontaneously due to an aortic aneurysm or infection) or secondary (complicating prior vascular surgery). Immediate recognition and surgical intervention are critical to manage severe gastrointestinal bleeding and prevent fatal outcomes.

Background: Yttrium-90 FF-21101 (Y-FF-21101) is a radiopharmaceutical that targets P-cadherin as a therapy against solid tumors. A previously reported, first-in-human study determined that a dose of 25 mCi/m was safe, and a patient with clear cell carcinoma of the ovary achieved a complete response. In this article, the authors report the results of Y-FF-21101 treatment in an ovarian carcinoma expansion cohort and in patients with selected solid tumors who had known high P-cadherin expression.

Uterine inversion is a life-threatening and uncommon obstetric emergency that can be fatal because of postpartum hemorrhage and shock. Acute uterine inversion is the most common type, which occurs within 24 h of delivery and is usually associated with untrained birth attendants and a lack of knowledge of labor-inducing drugs.

BACKGROUND Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) encephalitis is a commonly reported form of encephalitis that clinically manifests as skin lesions, fever, headache, and neuropsychiatric symptoms. We present a case of a patient with VZV encephalitis complicated by cerebral hemorrhagic transformation, characterized by high levels of inflammation and protein in the cerebrospinal fluid. The aim is to highlight the risk of hemorrhagic transformation associated with VZV encephalitis.
