Comparisons are made between the average magnetic flux density for a three-axis circular coil probe and the flux density at the center of the probe. The results, which are determined assuming a dipole magnetic field, provide information on the uncertainty associated with measurements of magnetic fields from some electrical appliances and other electrical equipment. The present investigation extends an earlier treatment of the problem, which did not consider all orientations of the probe. A more comprehensive examination of the problem leaves unchanged the conclusions reached previously.

Light-harvesting complex II (LHCII), the most abundant membrane protein in photosystem II, plays dual roles, i.e., efficient light harvesting and energy transfer to the reaction center under low light conditions and dissipating excess energy as heat to prevent photodamage under high irradiation conditions.

Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) was introduced in 2005 as a promising, tracer-based medical imaging modality with the potential for high sensitivity and spatial resolution. Since then, numerous preclinical devices have been built but only a few human-scale devices, none of which targeted functional neuroimaging. In this work, we probe the challenges of scaling the technology to meet the needs of human functional neuroimaging with sufficient sensitivity for detecting the hemodynamic changes following brain activation with a spatio-temporal resolution comparable to current functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) approaches.

DNA sequences that are composed of multiple G- and C-tracts can potentially form non-canonical structures called G-quadruplex (GQ) or i-motif (iM), respectively. Such sequences are found at the ends of chromosomes (telomeric repeats) and in the promoter region of several genes that cause cancer. Despite extensive studies, distinguishing different GQ and iM topologies is not easy.
