In Algeria, the data and research on the essential and toxic chemical elements in food are limited and insufficient; therefore, the present study focused on evaluating the essential and toxic elements content in different 11 brands with two types (tomato and oil) of canned tuna fish, consumed in Algeria in 2022, by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES), while mercury (Hg) levels were determined by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrophotometry, as well as estimate the probabilistic risk assessment. The elements in canned tuna fish commercialized for human consumption in Algeria were determined by ICP-OES methods, The results showed that the heavy metal concentration in the samples under study ranged from 49.11 to 289.80 mg.kg (Ca), 0.0045 to 0.2598 mg.kg (Cd), 0.128 to 1.21 mg.kg (Cr), 8.55 to 35.94 mg.kg (Fe), 121.27 to 379.17 mg.kg (Mg), 0.0767 to 1.2928 mg.kg (Mn), 2.10 to 3.95 mg.kg (Mo), and 2.86 to 35.90 mg.kg (Zn), whereas Cu, Pb, Cu, Ni, and As were under limit of detection (LOD), while the toxic elements of mercury (Hg) levels were determined by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrophotometry which showed a content ranged from 0.0186 to 0.0996 mg.kg. The levels of mineral elements concentration were close to the minimum recommended by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Obtained data for this investigation can be suitable for Algerian food purposes.

As biodegradable and bio-based plastics increasingly replace conventional plastics, the need for a comprehensive understanding of their ecotoxicity becomes more pressing. This review systematically presents the ecotoxicity of the microplastics (MPs) from different biodegradable plastics and bioplastics on various animals and plants. High doses of polylactic acid (PLA) MPs (10%) have been found to reduce plant nitrogen content and biomass, and affect the accumulation of heavy metals in plants.

Epsilon toxin (ETX) is an exotoxin produced by Clostridium perfringens type D that induces enterotoxaemia or necrotic intestinal infection in small ruminants and bovine. Immunization is an essential element in preventing the spread of infectious diseases. In recent literature, nanocarriers have exhibited the capacity to deliver protection, stability, and regulated distribution properties to protein-based antigens.

The Wanshan mercury mining area (WMMA) in Guizhou Province, China, has been identified as a region at high ecological risk owing to heavy metal contamination. This study employed non-lethal sampling methods, using the phalanges of Pelophylax nigromaculatus in the WMMA as analytical material. Ten heavy metal (metalloid) elements were selected for analysis, including Hg, Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, As, and Se.

Background And Objective: Bladder cancer (BCa) imposes a substantial economic burden on health care systems and patients. Understanding these financial implications is crucial for effective resource allocation and optimization of treatment cost effectiveness. Here, we aim to systematically review and analyze the financial burden of BCa from the health care and patient perspectives.

Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) represent a novel class of targeted anti-tumor medications that utilize the covalent linkage between monoclonal antibodies and cytotoxic agents. This unique mechanism combines the cytotoxic potency of drugs with the targeting specificity conferred by antigen recognition. However, it is essential to recognize that many ADCs still face challenges related to off-target toxicity akin to cytotoxic payloads, as well as targeted toxicity and other potential life-threatening adverse effects, such as treatment-induced interstitial lung injury.
