Background: () is an important cause of nosocomial infections, and contributes to high morbidity and mortality, especially in intensive care units. is considered a 'critical' category bacterial pathogen by the World Health Organization to encourage an urgent need for research and development of new antibiotics against its infections.

Aim: To investigate the effectiveness of baicalin combined with tobramycin therapy as a potential treatment method for carbapenem-resistant (CRPA) infections.

Methods: Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and RT-PCR were used to detect the expression levels of drug-resistant genes (including , and ) and biofilm-related genes (including , and ) in CRPA that confer resistance to tobramycin, baicalin and tobramycin combined with baicalin (0, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1MIC).

Results: There was a correlation between biofilm formation and the expression of biofilm-related genes. In addition, , , , , and that confer biofilm production under different concentrations in CRPA were significantly correlated. The synergistic effect of baicalin combined with tobramycin was a significant down-regulation of , , , and .

Conclusion: Baicalin combined with tobramycin therapy can be an effective treatment method for patients with CRPA infection.

Heart failure (HF) is a serious public health concern. Baicalin is one of the major active ingredients of a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, Huang Qin, which is used to treat patients with chest pain or cardiac discomfort. However, the underlying mechanism(s) of the cardioprotective effect of baicalin are still not fully understood.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is increasingly recognized as a whole-organ disease predominantly affecting the elderly, characterized by typical alterations in subchondral bone and cartilage, along with recurrent synovial inflammation. Despite the availability of various therapeutics and medications, a complete resolution of OA remains elusive. In this study, novel functional hydrogels are developed by integrating natural bioactive molecules for OA treatment.

Introduction: Cadmium (Cd) and polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs), two ubiquitous environmental contaminants, produce unique synergistic toxicity when co-existing. Key unanswered questions include specific effects on liver function and potential mechanisms.

Methods: In this study, C57BL/6 mice and AML12 cells were used to establish and models to elucidate the effects of combined exposure to PS-MPs and Cd on the liver and their mechanisms.

Beijing Tongrentang Technology Development Co., Ltd. Pharmaceutical Factory, Beijing, 100079, People's Republic of China.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the mechanism of Yangxuerongjin pill (YXRJP) in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) by network pharmacology and metabolomics technology combined with animal experiments, and to provide scientific basis for the treatment of DPN.

Methods: In this study, network pharmacology analysis was applied to identify the active compounds, core targets and signal pathways, which might be responsible for the effect of DPN. The DPN model was established by high-fat diet combined with streptozotocin (STZ) injection, and the rats were given administration for 12 weeks.

Targeted drug delivery is a promising strategy for treating inflammatory diseases, with recent research focusing on the combination of neutrophils and nanomaterials. In this study, a targeted nanodrug delivery platform (Ac-PGP-tFNA, APT) was developed using tetrahedral framework nucleic acid (tFNA) along with a neutrophil hitchhiking mechanism to achieve precise delivery and anti-inflammatory effects. The tFNA structure, known for its excellent drug-loading capacity and cellular uptake efficiency, was used to carry a therapeutic agent─baicalin.
