In this work, a dual-band transmissive polarization conversion metasurface (PCM), with omnidirectional polarization and low profile, is proposed. The periodic unit of the PCM is composed of three metal layers separated by two substrates. The upper patch layer of the metasurface is the patch-receiving antenna, while the bottom layer is the patch-transmitting antenna. Both antennas are arranged in an orthogonal way so that the cross-polarization conversion can be realized. The equivalent circuit analysis, structure design, and experimental demonstration are conducted in detail, the polarization conversion rate (PCR) is greater than 90% within two frequency bands of 4.58-4.69 GHz and 5.33-5.41 GHz, and the PCR at two center operating frequencies of 4.64 GHz and 5.37 GHz is as high as 95%, with a thickness of only 0.062λL, where λL is the free space wavelength at the lowest operating frequency. The PCM can realize a cross-polarization conversion, when the incident linearly polarized wave at an arbitrary polarization azimuth, which indicates that it has the characteristics of omnidirectional polarization.

Perovskite quantum dots (QDs) are promising optoelectronic materials. The large surface area provides an opportunity for ligand engineering to protect the QDs, while also impeding the charge transport in the QD array. Here, the solvent-mediated growth of a hierarchical zero-dimensional (HZD) architecture between CsPbI QDs is reported.

Covalent triazine frameworks (CTFs) are emerging as promising platform for photocatalysis, yet their highly symmetric structure leads to significant charge recombination. Herein, we employed a facile non-metallic boron (B) modification with precisely controlled doping site to introduce asymmetric local electron distribution in CTFs, achieving a 15-fold activity enhancement for CO-to-CH conversion. Calculations including frontier orbitals, dipole moments and molecular electrostatic potentials firmly demonstrated the formation of localized polarized electron regions in CTF-1 via B doping.

After spinal cord injury (SCI), reactive astrocytes in the injured area are triggered after spinal cord injury (SCI) and to polarize into A1 astrocytes with a proinflammatory phenotype or A2 astrocytes with an anti-inflammatory phenotype. Monopolar spindle binder 2 (MOB2) induces astrocyte stellation, maintains cell homeostasis, and promotes neurite outgrowth; however, its role in the phenotypic transformation of reactive astrocytes remains unclear. Here, we confirmed for the first time that MOB2 is associated with A1/A2 phenotypic switching in reactive astrocytes following SCI in mice.

This research presents an innovative polarization-insensitive metasurface (MS) harvester designed for energy harvesting applications at 5 GHz, capable of operating efficiently over wide reception angles. The proposed MS features a novel wheel-shaped resonator array whose symmetrical structure ensures insensitivity to the polarization of incident electromagnetic (EM) waves, enabling efficient energy absorption and minimizing reflections. Unlike conventional designs, the metasurface achieves near-unity harvesting efficiency, exceeds 94% under normal incidence, and maintains superior performance across various incident angles for TE and TM polarizations.

Calcium phosphates are often used for biomedical applications. Hydroxyapatite, for example, has a wide range of applications because it mimics the mineral component of natural bone. Widespread interest in the catalytic properties of ceria is due to its use in automotive catalytic converters.
