This study evaluates a hybrid system combining zeolites as a sorption stage and a hollow fiber membrane contactor (HFMC) for ammonia (NH) recovery from treated urban wastewater. Ion exchange with zeolites was selected as an advanced pretreatment and concentration step before the HFMC. The system was tested with wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) effluent (mainstream, 50 mg N-NH/L) and anaerobic digestion centrates (sidestream, 600-800 mg N-NH/L) from another WWTP. Natural zeolite, primarily clinoptilolite, demonstrated effective desorption of retained ammonium using a 2% NaOH solution in a closed-loop configuration, resulting in an ammonia-rich brine that enabled over 95% NH recovery using polypropylene HFMCs. A 1 m/h demonstration plant processed both urban wastewaters, which were pretreated by ultrafiltration, removing over 90% of suspended solids and 60-65% of COD. The 2% NaOH regeneration brines (2.4-5.6 g N-NH/L) were treated in a closed-loop HFMC pilot system, producing 10-15% N streams with potential use as liquid fertilizers. The resulting ammonium nitrate was free of heavy metals and organic micropollutants, making it suitable for use as liquid fertilizer. This comprehensive N management solution for urban wastewater applications can contribute to local economies while achieving reduced N discharge and circularity goals.

Background: Hypertension is the leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Despite advances in blood pressure management, significant racial and ethnic disparities persist, resulting in higher risks of stroke, heart disease, and mortality among non-White populations. Self-measured blood pressure (SMBP) monitoring, also known as home blood pressure monitoring, has shown promise in improving blood pressure control, especially when combined with feedback from healthcare providers.

Background: Sucrose non-fermenting-1-related protein kinases (SnRKs) have been implicated in plant growth and stress responses. Although SnRK3.23 is known to be involved in drought stress, the underlying mechanism of resistance differs between Arabidopsis and rice, and little is known about its function in wheat.

Objective: This study tests the effectiveness of leader and provider-level implementation strategies to implement evidence-based interventions (EBIs) in two of the service systems caring for autistic children. The TEAMS Leadership Institute (TLI) targets implementation leadership and climate, and TEAMS Individualized Provider Strategy (TIPS) targets provider motivation and engagement.
Method: A cluster randomized hybrid type 3 implementation-effectiveness trial tested the effects of the implementations strategies when paired with AIM HI (An Individualized Mental Health Intervention for Autism) in mental health programs (Study 1) and CPRT (Classroom Pivotal Response Teaching) in classrooms (Study 2).

Low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate (CS) has gained considerable attention for its superior bioactivity compared to native CS. In this study, the mechanisms of low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate from hybrid sturgeon cartilage (LMSCS), prepared using the HO/Vc system, on the remission of osteoarthritis (OA) were investigated both in in vitro and in vivo. A Caco-2/SW1353 co-culture cell model and a monosodium iodoacetate (MIA)-induced OA mouse model were used to validate its inhibited apoptosis, anti-inflammatory effects, and intestinal flora modulation.

Autophagy is a conserved and unique degradation system in eukaryotic cells, which plays crucial roles in the growth, development and pathogenesis of Fungi. Despite that, it is poorly understood in Fusarium graminearum currently. Here, we identified an autophagy gene FgAtg27 from F.
