Background: Proctocolectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis is the treatment of choice for patients with ulcerative colitis with medical refractory disease or dysplasia. The aim of this research was to describe the evolution of ileal pouch-anal anastomosis surgery and surgical outcomes over a three-decade interval in a high-volume referral centre.
Methods: All consecutive patients undergoing ileal pouch-anal anastomosis for ulcerative colitis between 1990 and 2022 at the University Hospitals of Leuven were retrospectively included.

We demonstrate a broadband implementation of coherent Fourier scatterometry (CFS) using a supercontinuum source. Spectral information can be resolved by splitting the incident field into two pulses with a variable delay and interfering them at the detector after interaction with the sample, bearing similarities with Fourier-transform spectroscopy. By varying the time delay between the pulses, a collection of diffraction patterns is captured in the Fourier plane, thereby obtaining an interferogram for every camera pixel.

Three reasons for BP have been identified: Deliberate procrastination, mindless procrastination, and strategic delay. Developing an instrument to assess the reasons for BP allows better identification of patterns of behaviors and tailored interventions.

The growing prevalence of the Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an increasing public health concern that led to French recommendations for timely AD diagnosis and patient management as well as a territorial coverage of specialized structures [Memory Centers including Resources and Memory Research Centers (RMRC) and Memory Consultations (MC)]. In view of the potential availability of Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs), this French observatory aimed to describe the current organization of the Memory Centers, and the care pathway of patients suffering from early AD. Overall, 12 of the 28 RMRC and 44 of the 250 MC solicited by the Federation of Memory Centers participated in this study.

Purpose: The incidence of hemodynamic instability associated with dexmedetomidine (DEX) sedation has been reported to exceed 50%, with substantial inter-individual variability in response. Genetic factors have been suggested to contribute significantly to such variation. The aim of this study was to identify the clinical, pharmacokinetic, and genetic factors associated with DEX-induced hemodynamic instability in pediatric anesthesia patients.
