Since 2016, there has been a succession of legal texts aimed at framing the use of seclusion and mechanical restraint in psychiatric services. These legal evolutions are not without consequence on the practice of caregivers. We propose here a practical summary of this issue.

Electrostatic Orientation of Optically Asymmetric Janus Particles.

ACS Omega

December 2024

Metamaterials Laboratory, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts 02115, United States.

Janus micro- and nanoparticles, featuring unique dual-interface designs, are at the forefront of rapidly advancing fields such as optics, medicine, and chemistry. Accessible control over the position and orientation of Janus particles within a cluster is crucial for unlocking versatile applications, including targeted drug delivery, self-assembly, micro- and nanomotors, and asymmetric imaging. Nevertheless, precise mechanical manipulation of Janus particles remains a significant practical challenge across these fields.

Background: Effective analgesia and sedation management play a crucial role in reducing the intensity of coughing in patients with endotracheal intubation and improving clinical outcomes. However, current approaches are predominantly singular and lack comprehensive management strategies based on multidisciplinary collaboration. This study aims to evaluate the impact of multidisciplinary collaborative bundled care on analgesia and sedation in intensive care unit (ICU) patients with endotracheal intubation, providing evidence to inform clinical practice.

Osteoporosis is the most prevalent metabolic bone disease, especially when aggravated by aging and long-term bed rest of various causes and also when coupled with astronauts' longer missions in space. Research on the use of static magnetic fields (SMFs) has been progressing as a noninvasive method for osteoporosis due to the complexity of the disease, the inconsistency of the effects of SMFs, and the ambiguity of the mechanism. This paper studied the effects of mice subjected to hindlimb unloading (UL, HLU) and reloading by the 0.

Aims: To identify and characterise the approaches and instruments used in recent literature to measure the prevalence of restrictive care practices in adult mental health inpatient units. Additionally, it sought to summarise the reported psychometric properties, including reliability and validity of these measures.

Methods: A systematic review of recent litratures was conducted using Scopus, MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Web of Science and Embase databases to identify studies published from 1 January 2010 to 11 October 2023.
