Southern tomato virus (STV) is a dsRNA virus, which belongs to the newly formed genus of the family. Currently there is no report regarding the presence of STV in tomato tissues. In this study, we performed in situ hybridization to examine the distribution of STV in host tissues. STV was found in the leaves, stems, seeds, shoot apexes and root tips of tomato and localized in the cortex tissue, vascular tissues, pith, seed coat, endosperm, cotyledon (including inner cotyledons and outer cotyledons), hypocotyls and radicles of infected tomato tissues. In addition, STV was detected in the apical part of the stems and roots for the first time. This indicates that STV is a systemic infectious virus.

Heat stress poses a significant challenge for maize production, especially during the spring when high temperatures disrupt cellular processes, impeding plant growth and development. The B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2) associated athanogene (BAG) gene family is known to be relatively conserved across various species. It plays a crucial role as molecular chaperone cofactors that are responsible for programmed cell death and tumorigenesis.

To explore the distribution characteristics of glioma-associated oncogene homolog 1 (Gli1) positive cells during orthodontic tooth movement process and conduct a proteomic analysis of these cells. Forty Gli1-LacZ transgenic mice were used to establish an in orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) model for labeling Gli1 positive cells in Gli1-LacZ transgenic mice (OTM group) and an unforced control group, with tooth movement distance measured using micro-CT. The spatial relationship and distribution characteristics of Gli1 positive cells and H-type vessels of CD31 and endomucin (EMCN) in periodontal tissues were detected by immunofluorescence staining.

Protein phosphatases (PPs) are a class of enzymes that play a critical role in cellular regulation by catalyzing the removal of phosphate groups from proteins. This dephosphorylation process is essential for controlling and modulating various cellular functions, including signal transduction, cell cycle progression, metabolic regulation, and stress responses. This study focuses on the comprehensive genomic identification, evolutionary analysis, and transcript profiling of the PP2C gene family within Solanum lycopersicum, an economically significant crop with substantial agricultural and nutritional importance.

Background: Transgenic plants expressing proteins that target the eggs of the ubiquitous plant pest Bemisia tabaci (whitefly) could be an effective insecticide strategy. Two approaches for protein delivery are assessed using the mCherry reporter gene in transgenic tomato plants, while accommodating autofluorescence in both the plant, phloem-feeding whitefly and pedicle-attached eggs.
Results: Both transgenic strategies were segregated to homozygous genotype using digital PCR.
