Purpose: Ocular neovascularization is a major cause of blindness. Although fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF2) has been implicated in the pathophysiology of angiogenesis, the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of FGF2 in retinal neovascularization and elucidate its underlying mechanisms.

Hair follicle growth depends on the intricate interaction of cells within the follicle and its vascular supply. Current FDA-approved treatments like minoxidil have limitations, including side effects and the need for continuous use. Moracin M, a compound from Moraceae family, was investigated for its effects on hair growth and vascular regeneration.

Background: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a major cause of childhood blindness worldwide, highlighted by retinal neovascularization. Ubiquitin is present throughout the retina. The deubiquitinating enzyme ubiquitin-specific protease 39 (USP39) has been reported to be involved in angiogenesis.

Despite the popular belief in the anti-tumor properties of venom (VBV), there is limited scientific evidence to support this claim. This study is the first to examine the anti-tumor effects of VBV on liver cancer, both alone and in combination with cisplatin (DDP), through in vitro and in vivo experiments. In vitro experiments evaluated VBV and its combination with DDP on HepG2 cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and apoptosis.

(1) Background: MicroRNA-129 (miR-129) participates in tumor progression and chemoresistance in various cancer types. In this study, the role of miR-129-3p, the main mature form of miR-129, in tumor progression and chemoradiotherapy resistance in head and neck cancer was evaluated. (2) Methods: RT-PCR, western blotting, cell proliferation assays, cell apoptosis assays, and cell invasion and migration assays were used.
