We record dark-field scattering bursts of individual gold nanorods, 52 × 15 nm in average size, freely diffusing in water suspension. We deduce their Brownian rotational diffusion constant from autocorrelation functions on a single-event basis. Due to spectral selection by the plasmonic resonance with the excitation laser, the distribution of rotational diffusion constants is much narrower than expected from the size distribution measured by TEM. As rotational diffusion depends on particle hydrodynamic volume, viscosity, and temperature, it can sense those parameters at the single-particle level. We demonstrate measurements of hot Brownian rotational diffusion of nanorods in temperature and viscosity gradients caused by plasmonic heating. Further, we monitor hydrodynamic volumes of gold nanorods upon addition of very low concentrations of the water-soluble polymer PVA, which binds to the particles, leading to measurable changes in their diffusion constant corresponding to binding of one to a few polymer coils. We propose this analysis technique for very low concentrations of biomolecules in solution.

A muscle's mechanical action is affected by its architecture. However, less is known about the architecture of muscles with broad attachments: "end-divergent" muscles. Potential regional variation of fascicle orientation in end-divergent muscles suggests that their mechanical action varies by region.

Based on the engineering example of Linsheng coal mine, this paper uses TF1M3D computer simulation platform to systematically analyze the process of smoke flow spreading and air flow disorder disaster from the perspective of the whole mine network, and puts forward corresponding plans and measures. A small scale similar experiment was carried out to study the updraft flow fire in the mine. Through the analysis of the collected experimental data, the variation law of the air volume of the fire source in the main air path, side branch road and total air path with different air volume and the variation characteristics of the temperature at the monitoring point with time were obtained under different air volume conditions, and the critical air volume was fitted as 1.

In the era of the Internet of Things (IoT), the transmission of medical reports in the form of scan images for collaborative diagnosis is vital for any telemedicine network. In this context, ensuring secure transmission and communication is necessary to protect medical data to maintain privacy. To address such privacy concerns and secure medical images against cyberattacks, this research presents a robust hybrid encryption framework that integrates quantum, and classical cryptographic methods.

The reaction coefficient for hydrogen/deuterium (H/D) exchange and the diffusion of hydrated excess protons within amorphous solid water (ASW) are characterized as a function of temperature. For these experiments, water films are deposited on a Pt(111) substrate at 108 K, and reactions with pre-adsorbed hydrogen atoms produce hydrated protons. Upon heating, protons diffuse within the water, and H/D exchange occurs when they encounter D2O probe molecules deposited in the films.

Bicelles, an artificial disk-shaped lipid bilayer, are commonly used for the structural and functional characterization of membrane-bound proteins in an environment similar to that in intracellular membranes. Because the dynamics of the lipids that constitute bicelles exert a significant impact on the structure and function of the inserted proteins, we investigated the mobility of lipid molecules in bicelles composed of DMPC (14:0 PC) and DHPC (06:0 PC) using solution NMR and MD calculations. C R relaxation experiments for the acyl groups demonstrated that increasing bicelle sizes limit the rotational diffusion of acyl chain H-C bonds in DMPC.
