The study focuses on the socio-cultural importance of hilsa fishery in West Bengal, which extends beyond mere sustenance, symbolising heritage, identity, and community spirit, particularly in South 24 Parganas district. As the state fish and a crucial livelihood source for many fishers, grave concerns have recently been flagged due to reduced catches and increased prices, highlighting the need for restoration. This study seeks to measure the non-consumptive value of hilsa fishery by involving 200 participants, 100 fishers and 100 consumers, utilising the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) with a payment card.

Background: Dementia is associated with a range of non-cognitive features that can occur during the prodromal phase. Improved recognition of non-cognitive presentations of dementia could reduce inequalities in dementia diagnosis, particularly if sociocultural factors influence rates of help-seeking for cognitive symptoms. Introduction: Clinical medicine is becoming more complex and increasingly requires a team-based approach to deliver healthcare needs. This dispersion of cognitive reasoning across individuals, teams and systems (termed "distributed cognition") means that our understanding of cognitive biases and errors must expand beyond traditional "in-the-head" individual mental models and focus on a broader "out-in-the-world" context instead. To our knowledge, no qualitative studies thus far have examined cognitive biases in clinical settings from a team-based sociocultural perspective.
