An updated consensus statement from the European Menopause and Andropause Society noted that a woman's quality of life may decline during peri- and post-menopause as a result of various menopausal symptoms and age-related comorbidities. of the work was to assess the possibility of using bioactive compounds in periand postmenopausal women to prevent the development of menopausal complications and chronic diseases associated with aging. . Literature search was carried out using PubMed, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, RSCI databases mainly over the past 10 years, with the exception of works of fundamental importance, according to the keywords "perimenopause", "postmenopause", "Affron® saffron extract", "special extract ERr 731". . The use of diet, dietary supplements including those containing extracts of saffron (Affron®) and Siberian rhubarb (ERr 731) and their biologically active substances, has a versatile effect on the correction of menopausal disorders due to the impact on various pathogenetic pathways of their development and can be used in women in this period as a phytonutrient support. . The combined use of saffron and Siberian rhubarb extracts is promising from the point of view of correcting the female state during peri- and postmenopause, taking into account the pathogenetic moments of the development of menopausal complications and chronic diseases associated with aging.

Musculoskeletal model predicted paraspinal loading may quick estimate the effect of exercise on spine BMD.

Front Bioeng Biotechnol

December 2024

Academy of Medical Engineering and Translational Medicine, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China.

Purpose: Spine is the most commonly found fracture site due to osteoporosis. Combined exercise including high-impact and resistance exercise shows the potential to improve bone mineral density (BMD) in the spine. However, the mechanical loading introduced by exercise, which is the mechanism of BMD changes, has not been investigated.

Transvaginal evisceration is a rare, potentially life-threatening condition involving herniation of intra-abdominal contents, typically the small bowel, through a defect in the vaginal wall. Most commonly observed in postmenopausal women with a history of pelvic surgery or trauma, it necessitates prompt surgical intervention. We report a unique case of transvaginal evisceration in a 67-year-old postmenopausal female with rectovaginal prolapse following minor trauma.

Department of Cardiology, Key Laboratory of Cardiac Injury and Repair of Henan Province, First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou, China.

Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the predictive value of the Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI) for the prognosis of older postmenopausal women with coronary artery disease (CAD).

Patients And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 617 postmenopausal female patients aged 50 years or older with a CAD diagnosis confirmed by coronary angiography seen at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2019 to December 2020. Patients were divided into three groups based on SIRI tertiles.
