This is the first study reporting parasites from the freshwater cyprinid (Steindachner 1897) caught in Nilüfer Stream, Bursa, in the Northwest Anatolian Region of Turkey. n. sp. was described from the intesine of based on morphological and genetic characteristics. n. sp. was differentiated from other spp. in having a combination of external (ventral and oral suckers ratio; body length and width and its ratio to forebody) and internal (cirrus pouch position; uterus extension in hindbody; egg size; disposition of anterior border of vitellarium; esophagus length) features. Phylogenetic hypotheses based on maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood, Bayesian inferrence, and neighbor joining analyses of sequence data strongly supported the hypothesis that is nested within the clade of species hosted by cypriniform fish, and it is more closely related to the Far Eastern species (Primorsky region, Russia) than to the African According to genetic p-distances, the taxonomic status of trematodes collected in Turkey was established as independent relative to nine of the valid spp.: 1.8-5.8% in 28S gene and 18.8-22.6% in gene. The present study increases the number of species and their definitive hosts recorded in Turkey and raises the number of Palearctic representatives of spp. to 26.

Microglia-resident immune cells in the central nervous system-undergo morphological and functional changes in response to signals from the local environment and mature into various homeostatic states. However, niche signals underlying microglial differentiation and maturation remain unknown. Here, we show that neuronal micronuclei (MN) transfer to microglia, which is followed by changing microglial characteristics during the postnatal period.

The effect of different feeding habits on gut morphology and digestive function has been intensively studied during the last decades but sympatric closely related fishes are relatively rare objects of such studies. In the present study, we have identified both morphological and physiological changes in the digestive system of a sympatric pair of whitefish represented by "normal" Coregonus lavaretus pidschian (benthivorous) and "dwarf" C. l.

Developing active-layer systems with both high performance and mechanical robustness is a crucial step towards achieving future commercialization of flexible and stretchable organic solar cells (OSCs). Herein, we design and synthesize a series of acceptors BTA-C6, BTA-E3, BTA-E6, and BTA-E9, featuring the side chains of hexyl, and 3, 6, and 9 carbon-chain with ethyl ester end groups respectively. Benefiting from suitable phase separation and vertical phase distribution, the PM6:BTA-E3-based OSCs processed by o-xylene exhibit lower energy loss and improved charge transport characteristic and achieve a power conversion efficiency of 19.

Paragonimiasis, caused by infection with lung flukes of the genus Paragonimus, remains a significant public health concern in Southeast Asia. In Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), information on the distribution and genetic diversity of Paragonimus species is limited. This study investigated Paragonimus metacercariae in freshwater (mountain) crabs and analyzed their genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationships.

Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) represent a large group of rare and ultra-rare tumors distinguished by unique morphological, molecular and clinical features. Patients with such rare cancers are generally underrepresented in clinical trials which has limited the introduction of new treatment options and subsequent improvement of patient outcomes. Preclinical models of STS that recapitulate the human disease can aid progress in identifying new effective treatments.
