Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is an acute heart disease that often evolves rapidly. In ACS patients presenting with no-ST-segment elevation (NSTE-ACS), the timing of symptom onset pre-hospital may inform the disease stage and prognosis. We pilot-tested two off-the-shelf natural language processing (NLP) pipelines, namely and ( ), to extract date and time (DateTime) information of patient-reported chest pain symptoms from electronic health records (EHR) clinical notes.

Cancer treatments induce multiple unwanted side effects that often go unrelieved, resulting in emergency room (ER) visits. Oncology clinics have established triage clinics (TCs) for symptom management, thereby improving access to care and decreasing ER utilization. In addition, evidence proves that validated patient-reported outcome (PRO) tools support improved symptom management and decreased ER visits.

Objective: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is estimated to affect a third of Australian adults, and its prevalence is predicted to rise, increasing the burden on the healthcare system. The LOCal Assessment and Triage Evaluation of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (LOCATE-NAFLD) trialled a community-based fibrosis assessment service using FibroScan to reduce the time to diagnosis of high-risk NAFLD and improve patient outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a 1:1 parallel randomised trial to compare two alternative models of care for NAFLD diagnosis and assessment.

Rationale: Hospitals are increasingly utilising allied-health professionals to provide clinical triage to patients. While these positions are routinely implemented, and several observational studies have reported positive outcomes, the effectiveness of this intervention has been rarely tested in a clinical trial.
Aims And Objectives: The objectives of this study were to (i) evaluate a podiatry-led orthopaedic triage service using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), and (ii) determine if it is cost-effective in terms of incremental cost/quality-adjusted life years (QALYs).

Background: Longitudinal tracking of multiple sclerosis (MS) symptoms in an individual's own environment may improve self-monitoring and clinical management for people with MS (pwMS).
Objective: We present a machine learning approach that enables longitudinal monitoring of clinically relevant patient-reported symptoms for pwMS by harnessing passively collected data from sensors in smartphones and fitness trackers.
Methods: We divide the collected data into discrete periods for each patient.
