Cushing's syndrome is a rare disease that has a different primary etiology, most often due to chronic hypercortisolism. In addition to the defined causes, in contrast to the general population, the observed etiology in pregnant women is a benign adrenocortical adenoma, less often bilateral hyperplasia of the adrenal glands of hypothalamic-pituitary origin or Cushing's disease, and malignant adrenal root adenoma. In this study, we present the case of a 41-year-old pregnant woman experiencing her first pregnancy.

Oropharyngeal stenosis (OPS) is a relatively rare long-term complication of tonsillectomy in children, resulting from the narrowing of the upper aerodigestive tract between the soft palate, pharyngeal sidewalls, and base of the tongue. This is the first reported case of OPS due to significant scar hyperplasia; however, whether it is as prone to recurrence as skin scar hypertrophy remains unknown. In this article, we present the case of a 5-year-old girl who presented to our otolaryngology clinic with sleep snoring and suffocation.

Background: Tonsillectomy and adenotonsillectomy are surgical procedures routinely performed worldwide, with various complications, including postoperative bleeding (PTH). Among haemostatic agents, bismuth subgallate (BS) has been employed in the past decades, but its use is controversial in children.

Objective: This retrospective, multicentre study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of BS in preventing PTH following tonsillectomy and adenotonsillectomy.

Purpose: Hyposmia in childhood is poorly characterized. The "U-Sniff Test", validated for children with anosmia, can be used to objectify olfactory impairment but has not been used to distinguish between hyposmia and normosmia. Therefore, we investigated children with enlarged adenoids with respect to hyposmia, its correlation with adenoid size, and the sensitivity of questionnaires to predict olfactory impairment.

Hyperplasia of the pharyngeal tonsils is to be considered pathologic when nasopharyngeal symptoms of mechanical obstruction and/or chronic inflammation occur. Chronic Eustachian tube dysfunction can result in various middle ear diseases such as conductive hearing loss, cholesteatoma, and recurrent acute otitis media. During examination, attention should be paid to the presence of adenoid facies (long face syndrome), with a permanently open mouth and visible tip of the tongue.
