Elongator is a tRNA-modifying complex that regulates protein translation. Recently, a moonlighting function of Elongator has been identified in regulating the polarization of the microtubule cytoskeleton during asymmetric cell division. Elongator induces symmetry breaking of the anaphase midzone by selectively stabilizing microtubules on one side of the spindle, contributing to the downstream polarized segregation of cell-fate determinants, and therefore to cell fate determination.

Summary: Linear mixed models are a commonly used statistical approach in genome-wide association studies when population structure is present. However, naive permutations of the phenotype to empirically estimate the null distribution of a statistic of interest are not appropriate in the presence of population structure or covariates. This is because the samples are not exchangeable with each other under the null hypothesis, and because permuting the phenotypes breaks the relationship among those and eventual covariates.

Background: Compressed schedules, where workers perform longer daily hours to enjoy additional days off, are increasingly promoted as a workplace well-being intervention. Nevertheless, their implications for work-related well-being outcomes, such as recovery from work and burnout risk, are understudied. This gap leaves employers with little evidence on whether and how the arrangement contributes to workplace well-being.

Elastomers are of great significance in developing smart materials for information encryption, and their unique self-healing and highly flexible properties provide innovative solutions to enhance security and anti-counterfeiting effectiveness. However, challenges remain in the multifunctional combination of mechanical properties, self-healing, degradability, and luminescence of these materials. Herein, a chemodynamic covalent adaptable network (CCAN)-induced robust, self-healing, and degradable fluorescent elastomer is proposed.
