In the rare cases of idiopathic valgus foot that fail to respond to conservative treatment surgery is indicated. The author describes an oblique osteotomy of the calcaneum extending from the pre-Achilles region to the inferior margin of the calcaneo-cuboid joint whereby the whole plantar surface of the calcaneum is rotated around its longitudinal axis. This reduces the sliding plane of the talo-calcaneal joint and changes the direction of the Achilles tendon and tibialis posterior so that they exert a more favourable action on the forefoot and tend to actively stabilise the correction. The results in 9 patients (11 feet) aged from 8 to 10 years are most encouraging and the operation preserves the dynamics of the hindfoot in every aspect. The case material is necessarily small because the indications for surgery in this condition are very rare.

The hindfoot is an uncommon site for malignant tumours. While limb salvage procedures are now more common for treating bone sarcoma, there is limited information available on hindfoot reconstruction alternatives because of its low incidence and its challenging outcomes. We present a case report of a man in his late 60s with synovial sarcoma affecting the right heel (calcaneus and soft tissue).

Background Haglund's syndrome, a common cause of pain in the posterior heel that consists of painful swelling of the local soft tissues and prominence of the posterosuperior calcaneal projection, presents significant challenges in treatment, particularly when conservative management fails. This study evaluates the functional outcomes following oblique partial excision of the posterosuperior portion (calcaneal tuberosity osteotomy) of the calcaneus for Haglund's syndrome. Methods A cohort of 30 patients, aged 18 years and older, with persistent heel pain unresponsive to conservative treatments, underwent partial osteotomy using a medial or lateral approach.

Background: Calcaneal slide osteotomies represent a well-established component in the surgical treatment of joint-preserving hind foot corrections. The percutaneous technique aims to minimize the surgical morbidity and maximize surgical efficiency. There is a consensus that percutaneous calcaneal sliding osteotomy (PCSO), using a low-speed and hightorque burr, is generally performed in four steps corresponding to the four quadrants of the cross-section of the calcaneal tuber.

Purpose: Flexible flatfoot deformity is quite common among adolescents. This study aimed to report the preliminary results of calcaneal lengthening osteotomy using a fibular bone graft.

Methods: This single-center, retrospective study included 28 patients (28 feet) with symptomatic flexible flatfoot deformity.
