Evaluation of a charge nurse leadership development program.

Nurs Manage

At Denver Health in Denver, Colo., Kelly Medero is the director of critical care, and Jama Goers is the director of nursing education, research, and innovation. Mary Beth Flynn Makic is a professor at the University of Colorado College of Nursing, Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo.

Published: July 2023

A pilot study evaluated the change in charge nurses' perception of their leadership skills after engaging in a 4-month structured leadership program. Based on a self-assessment, multimodal education using authentic leadership tenets and an appreciative inquiry framework increased participants' confidence in their skills.

Defect Conformal Field Theory from Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev Interactions.

Phys Rev Lett

December 2024

Tulane University, Department of Physics and Engineering Physics, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118, USA.

The coupling between defects and extended critical degrees of freedom gives rise to the intriguing theory known as defect conformal field theory (CFT). In this work, we introduce a novel family of boundary and interface CFTs by coupling N Majorana chains with SYK_{q} interactions at the defect. Our analysis reveals that the interaction with q=2 constitutes a new marginal defect.

The Mu2e and COMET experiments are expected to improve existing limits on charged lepton flavor violation (CLFV) by roughly 4 orders of magnitude. μ→e conversion experiments are typically optimized for electrons produced without nuclear excitation, as this maximizes the electron energy and minimizes backgrounds from the free decay of the muon. Here we argue that Mu2e and COMET will be able to extract additional constraints on CLFV from inelastic μ→e conversion, given the ^{27}Al target they have chosen and backgrounds they anticipate.

Background: Climate change poses a significant risk to kidney health, and countries with lower national wealth are more vulnerable. Yet, citizens from lower-income countries demonstrate less concern for climate change than those from higher-income countries. Education is a key covariate.

Gold nanocomposites in colorectal cancer therapy: characterization, selective cytotoxicity, and migration inhibition.

Naunyn Schmiedebergs Arch Pharmacol

January 2025

Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UCSI University, No. 1, Jalan Menara Gading, Taman Connaught, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, 56000, Malaysia.

The third most prevalent type of cancer in the world, colorectal cancer, poses a significant treatment challenge due to the nonspecific distribution, low efficacy, and high systemic toxicity associated with chemotherapy. To overcome these limitations, a targeted drug delivery system with a high cytotoxicity against cancer cells while maintaining a minimal systemic side effects represents a promising therapeutic approach. Therefore, the aim of this study was to develop an efficient gold nanocarrier for the targeted delivery of the anticancer agent everolimus to Caco-2 cells.

Experimental and Theoretical Study of Two 3D Difunctional Electrocatalytic Hybrid Vanadate-Containing Metal-Organic Motifs.

Inorg Chem

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Polyoxometalate Science of Ministry of Education, Faculty of Chemistry, Northeast Normal University, Changchun, Jilin 130024, PR China.

Two novel 3D inorganic-organic hybrids based on [VO]/[VO] clusters, [Cu(bbpy)(VO)]·3HO () and [CuAg(pty)(VO)]·HO () (bbpy = 3,5-bis(1-benzimidazole) pyridine, pty = 4'-(4″-pyridyl)-2,2':6',2″-terpyridine), were isolated in the same POV/Cu/N-heterocycle ligand reaction systems. Hybrids and possess novel three-dimensional bimetallic frameworks derived from [VO]/[VO] clusters and Cu-organic complexes. In , bbpy ligands are grafted by Cu to a grid ribbon 2D sheet, which are connected with benzene-like [VO] to yield a 3D framework.
