Background: Adaptive cellular therapy (ACT), particularly chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy, has been successful in the treatment of hemopoietic malignancies. However, poor trafficking of administered effector T cells to the tumor poses a great hurdle for this otherwise powerful therapeutic approach in solid cancers. Our previous study revealed that targeting CD93 normalizes tumor vascular functions to improve immune checkpoint blockade therapy.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has gained widespread attention in cancer treatment, but it still faces clinical problems such as skin phototoxicity. Activatable photosensitizers offer a promising approach to addressing this issue. However, several significant hurdles need to be overcome, including developing effective activation strategies and achieving the optimal balance between photodynamic effects and related side effects.

Background: Chemoresistance in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) presents a significant clinical hurdle, limiting the efficacy of treatments like doxorubicin. This study aimed to explore the molecular changes associated with doxorubicin resistance and identify potential therapeutic targets to overcome this resistance, thereby improving treatment outcomes for TNBC patients.
Methods: Doxorubicin-resistant (DoxR) TNBC models (MDA-MB-231 and BT-549) were generated by exposing cells to increasing concentrations of doxorubicin.

One Health is an integrative approach aiming to achieve optimal health outcomes by recognizing the interconnection between humans, animals, and the environment. This study explores the understanding, perspectives, hurdles, and implications of intersectoral collaboration within Pakistan's human health system, focusing on One Health principles. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed, involving 17 key informant interviews with purposively selected stakeholders from public health, agriculture, veterinary medicine, agriculture and environmental science.

The depletion of fossil resources, coupled with global warming and adverse environmental impact of traditional petroleum-based plastics, have necessitated the discovery of renewable resources and innovative biodegradable materials. Lignocellulosic biomass (LB) emerges as a highly promising, sustainable and eco-friendly approach for accumulating polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), as it completely bypasses the problem of "competition for food". This sustainable and economically efficient feedstock has the potential to lower PHA production costs and facilitate its competitive commercialization, and support the principles of circular bioeconomy.
