The combination of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and 2% chlorhexidine (CHX) has been recently introduced as an intracanal medicament. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential cytotoxic effects of MTA mixed with 2% chlorhexidine gel on human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) and compare it with other common endodontic regeneration medicaments. Minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of six experimental groups against was determined. The study groups consisted of RetoMTA mixed with 2% chlorhexidine gel (MTA+CHX), calcium hydroxide (CH), CH mixed with CHX gel, two concentrations of double antibiotic paste, and 2% CHX. The direct cytotoxic effect of minimum bactericidal concentration was evaluated by MTT on PDLSCs on days 1, 3, and 7. One-way ANOVA and post hoc tests were used for data analysis (P<0.05). The viability of cells treated with MTA+CHX decreased significantly over time (P<0.05) making this group the most cytotoxic intracanal medicament on the 3 and 7 days of treatment. On day one, the highest viability percentage was detected in the CH+CHX group followed by the CHX group. On day 3, CH+CHX and CHX groups displayed the highest viability percentage. On day 7, the highest viability was observed in the CHX group, which showed no significant difference with the control group (P=0.12). Regarding the antimicrobial potency of intracanal medicaments at minimum bactericidal concentration levels, CHX gel appears to be the least cytotoxic drug, while MTA+CHX shows the highest reduction in viability percentage.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of chlorhexidine (CHX) cavity disinfectant on interfacial microleakage and micro-tensile bond strength (μTBS) of a universal adhesive bonded to dentin in both self-etch (SE) and etch-and-rinse (ER) modes.
Methods: Class I cavities were prepared in the coronal dentin of extracted human teeth and assigned to two etching modes (SE or ER), then subdivided by disinfection with or without CHX (n = 5). Cavities were restored using Single Bond Universal Adhesive and Filtek Z350 XT composite.

Bond strength between repair and restorative materials is crucial for endodontic success. This study assessed the effects of the following final irrigation solutions on the bond strength of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) to a bulk-fill composite: (1) 17% Ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA); (2) 2% Chlorhexidine (CHX); (3) 0.2% chitosan; (4) 0.

Background: The Government of Ghana in 2017 included chlorhexidine (CHX) digluconate 7.1% gel in the essential medicines list to replace methylated spirit for umbilical cord care. However, there are limited studies around the use of the CHX gel.

The efficacy of Zerumbone (ZER) against mixed biofilms of fluconazole-resistant (ATCC 96901) and (UA159) was evaluated. Biofilms were cultivated on acrylic resin specimens for 48 h, with alternating supplementation of glucose and sucrose. ZER's ability to inhibit biofilm formation (pre-treatment) and eradicate mature biofilms (post-treatment) was assessed.

Additionally, surfaces of lithium disilicate ceramic were examined for precipitates after the etching and neutralizing process.
Materials And Methods: The HF permeability of the following isolation agents (n=8) was investigated by positioning them over pH indicator paper under airtight conditions and applying 9% HF: latex rubber dam; elastic plastomer rubber dam; nitrile gloves; latex gloves; liquid rubber dam; Teflon; AZ strip.
