Objective: this retrospective study aimed to evaluate the impact of BRCA mutational status on the outcomes of patients with advanced ovarian cancer treated with either primary debulking surgery (PDS) or neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interval debulking surgery (NACT-IDS). Material and a total of 79 patients with stage III-IV ovarian cancer treated at Elias Emergency University Hospital between January 2014 and March 2024 were included. Patients received either PDS followed by chemotherapy or NACT-IDS.

Background & objectives The choice of anesthetic for better perioperative conservation of immune responses has always been contentious. This study investigated the differential impact of the intravenous anesthetic, propofol, and the volatile anesthetic, isoflurane on the T cell immune responses, if any, among individuals going through perioperative breast cancer. Methods Perioperative blood samples (preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative) collected from participants with breast cancer in two arms namely isoflurane arm (n=50) and the propofol arm (n=50) were analyzed for T cell immune response using flow cytometry and ELISA.

Objective: The traditional histopathological analysis of endometrial cancer (EC) is the main risk group classification tool (low, intermediate, high-intermediate, and high) for the implementation of adjuvant treatment. The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics staging system of EC has incorporated a new molecular classification that serves as a new triage tool for optimal treatment planning for these patients. Our study aimed to investigate the prognostic role of the new molecular classification in EC.

The tumor microenvironment in glioblastoma (GBM) is characterized by a pronounced immunosuppressive state, which significantly hampers tumor treatment and contributes to treatment resistance. While our previous research established that black phosphorus nanosheets (BPNS) inhibited glioblastoma cell migration and invasion, the impact of BPNS on the anti-tumor-associated immune mechanism remains unexplored. This study firstly investigated whether BPNS could modulate the tumor microenvironment through immunotherapy and elucidated the underlying mechanisms.
