In this study, a new non-enzymatic carbon paste biosensor was developed for the determination of Bisphenol-A (BPA) based on Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube (MWCNT) modified Myoglobin (Mb). The measurement principle of the biosensor was developed based on the inhibition effect of BPA on the heme group of myoglobin in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. With the designed biosensor, measurements were taken in the potential range of (-0.15 V & +0.65 V) using the differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method in the medium containing K[Fe(CN)]. The linear range for BPA was determined to be 100-1000 µM. Response time was calculated as 16 s. The limit of detection was set at 89 μM. As a result, it has been proven that MWCNT modified myoglobin based biosensor is an alternative method that can be used for BPA determination, giving very sensitive and fast results.

Bisphenol A (BPA), a well-known chemical compound used in various daily goods, has been associated with adverse effects on animal metabolic processes. However, the specific impacts of BPA exposure on clam gills remain largely unexplored. To investigate the effects of BPA on energy metabolism and apoptosis in Meretrix petechialis gills, clams were exposed to varying concentrations of BPA (1, 10, and 100 μg/L) for 21 days.

Mammary glands development is influenced by endocrine signaling, which remodels epithelial and stromal compartments. Reactive stroma phenotype is observed when stromal disturbances occur, leading to changes in extracellular matrix composition and occurrence of reactive cell types. One of the triggers of these alterations is endocrine-disrupting chemical exposure, such as bisphenol A (BPA).

Background: The human gut microbiota has a critical role in several aspects of host homeostasis, such as immune development, metabolism, nutrition, and defense against pathogens during life. It can be sensitive to xenobiotics including drugs, diet, or even environmental pollutants, especially heavy metals (HMs). The findings of some previous studies are heterogeneous due to the inclusion of various types of study (human, and animal studies) and wide exposures (phthalate, bisphenol A, HMS, etc.

Background: Heart failure is linked to increased hospitalization and mortality. Mitochondrial permeability transition-driven necrosis is associated with cardiovascular diseases, but its role in heart failure is unclear. This study aimed to identify and validate genes related to mitochondrial permeability transition-driven necrosis in heart failure, potentially leading to new drug targets and signaling pathways.

Microplastics (MPs) are produced from various primary and secondary sources and pose multifaceted environmental problems. They are of non-biodegradable nature and may stay in aquatic environments for a long time period. The present review has covered novel aspects pertaining to MPs that were not covered in earlier studies.
