AI Article Synopsis

  • A new approach using ozone micro-nano bubbles (O-MNBs) was developed to speed up the creation of pumpable ice slurry (PIS) for preserving small yellow croaker fish.
  • The study showed that mixing sodium alginate (SA) with O-MNBs improved ice production by enhancing ice nucleation and reducing supercooling compared to using only SA solution.
  • The novel PIS with O-MNBs outperformed traditional storage methods in terms of preservation effectiveness, thanks to O-MNBs' strong antibacterial properties.

Article Abstract

In this study, a novel strategy for accelerating the production of pumpable ice slurry (PIS) by using ozone micro-nano bubbles (O-MNBs) was proposed. The effect of PIS containing sodium alginate (SA) and O-MNBs on the preservation of small yellow croaker () was investigated. The results indicate that using SA solution containing O-MNBs instead of only SA solution resulted in quicker production of PIS by promoting ice nucleation and eliminating supercooling. The distribution and positive effect of O-MNBs as a nucleation agent on freezing characteristics were discussed. Microbial concentrations, pH, total volatile basic nitrogen, and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance content were also examined. Storage in novel PIS (containing O-MNBs) had higher performance than storage in flake ice or conventional PIS due to the strong bacteriostatic ability of O. Therefore, O-MNBs injection can be used as a novel method for PIS production and the preservation of fresh marine products.

Introduction: Sarcomas are a rare and diverse group of mesenchymal-origin solid tumors, constituting only 1% of adult malignancies and classified into soft tissue and bone sarcomas. For localized disease, surgery and radiotherapy remain the cornerstone treatments. However, systemic options for advanced stages are limited, with an overall survival of approximately 20 months.

The clinical application of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) is rapidly growing and has emerged as a cornerstone in the treatment of both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. However, resistance to TKI targets and disease progression remain inevitable. Nanocarrier-mediated delivery has emerged as a promising strategy to overcome the limitations of the TKI application.
