Cardiotocography (CTG), which measures the fetal heart rate (FHR) and maternal uterine contractions (UC) simultaneously, is used for monitoring fetal well-being during delivery or antenatally at the third trimester. Baseline FHR and its response to uterine contractions can be used to diagnose fetal distress, which may necessitate therapeutic intervention. In this study, a machine learning model based on feature extraction (autoencoder), feature selection (recursive feature elimination), and Bayesian optimization, was proposed to diagnose and classify the different conditions of fetuses (Normal, Suspect, Pathologic) along with the CTG morphological patterns. The model was evaluated on a publicly available CTG dataset. This research also addressed the imbalance nature of the CTG dataset. The proposed model has a potential application as a decision support tool to manage pregnancies. The proposed model resulted in good performance analysis metrics. Using this model with Random Forest resulted in a model accuracy of 96.62% for fetal status classification and 94.96% for CTG morphological pattern classification. In rational terms, the model was able to accurately predict 98% Suspect cases and 98.6% Pathologic cases in the dataset. The combination of predicting and classifying fetal status as well as the CTG morphological patterns shows potential in monitoring high-risk pregnancies.

Introduction: To systematically review existing scientific literature to determine, compare, and evaluate whether concentrated growth factors (CGF) or connective tissue grafts (CTG) is a better treatment alternative for patients with marginal tissue recession (MTR).
Methods: Electronic databases like PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Google Scholar were screened from the last 20 years reporting treatment of MTR using CGF or CTG and other techniques. Periodontal parameters like probing depth, clinical attachment level, recession depth, recession width, keratinized tissue width, root coverage, increase in gingival thickness and plaque index, and gingival index were compared.

Background: In clinical medicine, fetal heart rate (FHR) monitoring using cardiotocography (CTG) is one of the most commonly used methods for assessing fetal acidosis. However, as the visual interpretation of CTG depends on the subjective judgment of the clinician, this has led to high inter-observer and intra-observer variability, making it necessary to introduce automated diagnostic techniques.
Methods: In this study, we propose a computer-aided diagnostic algorithm (Hybrid-FHR) for fetal acidosis to assist physicians in making objective decisions and taking timely interventions.

We present an image dataset of monothalamous soft-shelled Foraminifera (Monothalamea, [1]), an important component of benthic foraminiferal assemblage in sediment cores collected during two oceanographic expeditions that contributed to the MSM30-CORIBAR project (Ice dynamics and meltwater deposits: coring in the Kveithola trough, NW Barents Sea). 9 subsamples of sediment cores were collected during different years (2013-2016) in the Kveithola Trough, a glacially carved system in the NW Barents Sea. Cores were retrieved using a multi-corer (MUC) and a giant box-corer (GBC) and the subcores for foraminiferal analyses were obtained using Plexiglas tubes inserted manually into the cores.

Parasitic infestations are one of the most concerning problems limiting ornamental fish farming. In addition to the direct economic losses due to the major mortalities, parasites may significantly negatively impact the body shape, coloration, growth rate, and health condition of the fish. The results of the study highlight the importance of comprehensive parasitological analysis in the diagnosis and treatment of parasitic infections in ornamental fish farms.
