Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are critical for plant biological processes. As signaling molecules, ROS regulate plant growth and development through cell expansion, elongation, and programmed cell death. Furthermore, ROS production is induced by microbe-associated molecular patterns (MAMPs) treatment and biotic stresses, and contributes to plant resistance to pathogens. Thus, MAMP-induced ROS production has been an indicator for plant early immune responses or stress responses. One of widely used methods for the measurement is a luminol-based assay to measure extracellular ROS production with a bacterial flagellin epitope (flg22) as a MAMP elicitor. is susceptible to a wide variety of plant pathogenic agents and therefore commonly used for ROS measurements. On the other hand, , many of genetical lines of which are available, is also conducted to ROS measurements. Tests in an asterid and a rosid can reveal conserved molecular mechanisms in ROS production. However, the small size of leaves requires many seedlings for experiments. This study examined flg22-induced ROS production in another member of the Brassicaceae family, ssp. (turnip), which has large and flat leaves. Our experiments indicated that 10 nM and 100 nM flg22 treatments induced high ROS levels in turnip. Turnip tended to have a lower standard deviation in multiple concentrations of flg22 treatment. Therefore, these results suggested that turnip can be a good material from the rosid clade for ROS measurement.

Recent research has demonstrated that activating the cGAS-STING pathway can enhance interferon production and the activation of T cells. A manganese complex, called TPA-Mn, was developed in this context. The reactive oxygen species (ROS)-sensitive nanoparticles (NPMn) loaded with TPA-Mn are developed.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT), utilizing a photosensitizer (PS) to induce tumor cell death, is an effective modality for cancer treatment. PS-peptide conjugates have recently demonstrated remarkable antitumor potential in preclinical trials. However, the limited cell membrane binding affinity and rapid systemic clearance have hindered their transition to clinical applications.

Eggshell membrane (ESM) is a rich source of bioactive compounds, including proteins, peptides, and antioxidants, contributing to its potential therapeutic benefits. These natural antioxidants might help neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) and modulate inflammatory responses, which are often linked with chondrocyte damage in osteoarthritis. In this study, we investigated the functional effects of ESM proteins on HO-induced oxidative stress in a neonatal canine chondrocytes.

Among the various sources of selenium supplementations, the Se-methylselenocysteine (SeMC) is a natural organic selenium compound that has been demonstrated to have multiple advantages in terms of metabolism efficiency and biosafety in animals. Nevertheless, the genome-wide impact of SeMC on gene transcription remains to be elucidated. In this study, we employed an LPS-stimulated chicken HD11 macrophage-like cell model to identify the principal transcription factors involved in transcriptome regulation responsible for SeMC treatment.

Renal dysfunction due to ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a common problem after kidney transplantation. In recent years, studies on animal models have shown that exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSC-Exo) play an important role in treating acute kidney injury (AKI) and promoting tissue repair. The microneedle patch provides a noninvasive and targeted delivery system for exosomes.
