Overcoming challenges to achieve success involves being able to spontaneously come up with effective strategies to address different task demands. Research has linked individual differences in such strategy generation and use to optimal development over time and greater success across many areas of life. Yet, there is surprisingly little experimental evidence that tests how we might help young children to spontaneously generate and apply effective strategies across different challenging tasks.

Tailoring Exercise Prescription for Effective Diabetes Glucose Management.

J Clin Endocrinol Metab

January 2025

Department of Kinesiology and Health, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ 08901, USA.

Context: Physical activity, exercise, or both are a staple of lifestyle management approaches both for type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and type 2 diabetes (T2DM). While the current literature supports both physical activity and exercise for improving glycemic control, reducing cardiovascular risk, maintaining proper weight, and enhancing overall well-being, the optimal prescription regimen remains debated.

Evidence Acquisition: We searched PubMed and Google Scholar databases for relevant studies on exercise, insulin sensitivity, and glycemic control in people with T1DM and T2DM.

Schizophrenia is a serious psychiatric condition requiring continuous treatment with antipsychotic medications available in different formulations, including oral antipsychotics (OAPs) and long-acting injectables (LAIs). This narrative review aims to comprehensively outline the advantages and disadvantages of OAPs and LAIs to support clinicians in choosing different formulations based on the presentation of clinical symptoms. An electronic search of the PubMed database was performed in June 2024, and additional articles were retrieved from the references or personal knowledge of the authors.

Optimizing voriconazole-loaded thermoresponsive hydrogel: tools and studies.

Drug Dev Ind Pharm

January 2025

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala, India.

Objective: The present study aims to develop and evaluate the voriconazole-loaded thermoresponsive hydrogel using tools.

Methods: Poloxamer 407 and PEG 400 were selected as the components from studies for thermoresponsive hydrogel of voriconazole. The cohesive energy density (CED) and solubility parameters (SP) were calculated using Biovia Material Studio 2022 software to predict the polymer-polymer miscibility and drug-polymer miscibility.

Sparse loudspeaker array design for wideband frequency-invariant beamforming with multiple targets.

J Acoust Soc Am

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Modern Acoustics, Institute of Acoustics, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China.

Beamforming technology using loudspeaker arrays is widely used in sound applications, but current sparse array design methods focus on optimizing a single beam for a single target direction, limiting their applicability to multi-channel sound systems. This paper presents a design method for sparse loudspeaker line arrays to generate wideband frequency-invariant beams in multiple target directions. A model based on tapped delay lines is developed and a two-stage design approach is proposed.
