A modified methylmethacrylate cranioplasty is presented. After preparation of the skull defect, a Teflon net is placed and fitted over it, overlapping the border by one centimeter. The plastic material is spread over the Teflon net in the skull defect and is removed as soon as it becomes firm. Next, the plate is perforated at several points and then is fixed with Vicryl stiches between the Teflon net and the epicranium. This procedure is simple and fast. The fixation is firm; the result is good.

Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), among the most simple and efficient means to harvest mechanical energy, have great potential in renewable energy utilization. While the output performance of TENGs is still not high enough, which limits its practical application. Here, a poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/fluorinated ethylene propylene nanoparticles (FEP NPs) porous nanofiber (PFPN) membrane with waterproof, breathable, surface superhydrophobic and high tribo-negative properties is proposed for achieving high-performance of TENGs.

A novel system for measuring net photochemical ozone production rates in the atmosphere based on cavity ring-down spectroscopy (OPR-CRDS) was developed. The system consists of two chambers (a reaction chamber and a reference chamber) and a dual-channel O-CRDS detector. To minimize the wall loss of O in the chambers, the inner surfaces of both chambers are coated with Teflon film.

A 61-year-old woman, referred for recurrent pneumonia over a period of 3 months with insufficient response to antibiotic treatment, presented with coughing and intense right-sided chest pain. Previously, she underwent right upper lobectomy for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) followed by adjuvant chemotherapy and subsequent partial chest wall resection with polytetrafluoroethylene net insert due to a pleurocutaneous fistula. 18 FDG plus a 68 Ga-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor ( 68 Ga-FAPI) PET/CT scans were performed to rule out non-small cell lung cancer recurrence.

Total reflection X-ray fluorescence (TXRF) analysis is one of the useful techniques for determining trace elements. Owing to the high detection sensitivity of X-ray fluorescence in small residues, the hydrophobic substrates are generally used to form dot-type residue. However, when measuring low-Z elements in sample solutions with high concentrations of matrix elements, obtaining sufficient measurement sensitivity can be difficult.
