Leukemic retinopathy is a severe complication of severe leukocytosis that results from untreated chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Immediate cytoreduction via leukapheresis may reverse ocular manifestations and prevent permanent vision damage. We present a case of a patient with acute unilateral vision loss found to have leukemic retinopathy in the setting of untreated CML with improvement of visual symptoms after leukapheresis and initiation of hydroxyurea.

Internal tandem duplications in the FMS-like tyrosine kinase-3 (FLT3-ITD) are common mutations in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) that induce proteasomal degradation of mutated FLT3 emerge as innovative pharmacological approach. Molecular mechanisms that control targeted proteolysis beyond the ubiquitin-proteasome-system are undefined and PROTACs are the only known type of FLT3 degraders.

Methods: We report a case of a 53-year-old man with type 1 diabetes mellitus who presented with a rapid onset of bilateral blurred vision.
Results: He was noted to have bilateral macular edema and was initially treated for presumed diabetic macular edema (DME) with intravitreal alifbercept injections.

Background: We describe a case in which bilateral optic nerve infiltration and leukemic retinopathy were the initial signs of disease relapse in a patient with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph-ALL) with central nervous system (CNS) involvement.
Case Presentation: A 65-year-old Asian female with Ph-ALL in complete remission presented at our institution with symptoms of visual disturbance, central scotoma and pain with eye movement in both eyes for a 1-month duration. Ophthalmic examination revealed remarkable optic disc swelling with multiple flame-shaped peripapillary hemorrhages, retinal venous dilation and retinal hemorrhages in both eyes.

Purpose: Although leukemic retinopathy accounts for 80% of ocular complications in acute leukemia, its pathogenesis remains unclear. To evaluate changes in retinal and choroicapillaris and structural parameters in patients with acute leukemia, we analyzed the correlation between vascular perfusion metrics and laboratory parameters and assessed the changes after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).
Methods: Herein, 104 eyes of 52 patients aged 18 and above with acute leukemia were enrolled.
