To describe the stability of nafamostat in infusion solutions, during blood sample collection and in extracted plasma samples in the autosampler. Nafamostat infusion solutions were stored at room temperature in the light for 24 h. For sample collection stability, fresh blood spiked with nafamostat was subjected to combinations of anticoagulants, added esterase inhibitor and temperature. Nafamostat was monitored in the extracted plasma samples in the autosampler. Nafamostat was stable in infusion solutions. Nafamostat in whole blood was stable for 3 h before centrifugation when collected in sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate tubes (4°C). Nafamostat in extracted plasma samples degraded at 4.7 ± 0.7% per h. Viable samples can be obtained using blood collection tubes with sodium fluoride, chilling and processing promptly.

The slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces (SLIPS) have recently attracted significant interest in marine antifouling and corrosion protection. Nevertheless, the insufficient durability and corrosion resistance of SLIPS considerably affect their application potential. In this work, a preparation strategy for ultradurable slippery organic coating was proposed to combat biofouling and corrosion.

Therapeutic monoclonal antibody (mAb) drug products are increasingly used to treat both chronic and acute diseases. These mAb drug products are often developed for subcutaneous (SC) injection to simplify dosing compared with intravenous (IV) infusion. For SC injection, the mAb liquid drug product is typically filled in a vial for use with a syringe or in a prefilled syringe, which can then be assembled into a safety syringe device or an autoinjector for direct administration.

Cross-linking bonds adjacent polymer chains into a three-dimensional network. Cross-linked poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) turns into a hydrogel, insoluble structure exhibiting outstanding sorption properties. As an electrospinnable polymer, PVA enables the creation of nanofibrous hydrogels resembling biological tissues, thus ideal for nature-inspired platforms.

Article Synopsis
  • The MnO/Dio@CS nanocomposite was studied for its ability to break down organic dyes Acid Green and Malachite Green Oxalate under visible light, achieving over 85% degradation in just 60 minutes.
  • The nanocomposite exhibited superior photocatalytic performance compared to pure MnO nanoparticles and was characterized using advanced techniques like FESEM and UV-vis spectroscopy.
  • Additionally, it demonstrated significant antibacterial properties against Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, indicating its potential as a dual-functional material for environmental applications.

Background/aim: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and aggressive form of primary malignant tumors in the central nervous system of adults. In practice, all patients with GBM experience relapse, and treatment options become limited following first-line therapy. We previously reported a new, successful treatment approach for a GBM patient, implemented in direct conjunction with surgical intervention.
