Intermediate care (IC) is prevalent nationwide, but little is known about how to best organize this level of care. Using a 99-item cross-sectional survey assessing four domains (hospital and physical IC features, provider and nurse staffing, monitoring, and interventions/services), we describe the organizational heterogeneity of IC within a five-hospital healthcare system. Surveys were completed by nurse managers from 12 (86%) of 14 IC settings.

Work related factors are important drivers of depressive symptoms. Purpose: The purpose of this quality improvement project was to implement and evaluate an algorithm for management and prevention of diaper dermatitis (DD) embedded in a scoring tool. The specific aim of the project was to decrease DD occurrences with a severity score of 3 to 4 by 25%.

Participants And Setting: Quality improvement participants comprised 164 neonates; 89 were cared for prior to project implementation and 75 post-implementation.

Design: This study was an evidence summary followed by the evidence summary reporting standard of Fudan University Center for Evidence-based Nursing.

Methods: All evidence on non-pharmacological management of sleep disturbances in ICU patients from both domestic and international databases and relevant websites was systematically searched, including guidelines, expert consensuses, best practice, clinical decision-making, evidence summaries and systematic review.
