Rewiring of cellular metabolism is now fully recognized as a hallmark of cancer. Tumor cells reprogram metabolic pathways to meet the energetic and macromolecular demands to support unrestricted growth and survival under unfavorable conditions. It is becoming apparent that these adaptations underpin most of the traits that define a cancer cell's identity, including the ability to avoid immune surveillance, endure nutrient and oxygen restrictions, detach and migrate from their natural histological niche, and avert human-made aggressions (i.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of multi-drug therapy based on eszopiclone in the treatment of insomnia after stroke using a network meta-analysis method and to provide evidence for clinical practice.

Method: Computer searches of PubMed, Excerpt Medica Database (Embase), Cochrane Library Central Register of Controlled Trials, APA PsycInfo, CNKI, WanFang, Sinomed and other databases were performed to search for clinical randomized controlled studies (RCTs) on multi-drug therapy based on eszopiclone in the treatment of insomnia patients after stroke. The search time was from the establishment of each database until July 2023.

Sweet dreams: glycosylation controls tumor cell dormancy.

Trends Cancer

March 2024

Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, The Tisch Cancer Institute, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY, USA. Electronic address:

In a recent study in Cancer Cell, Sreekumar et al. used therapy-associated breast cancer mouse models as well as in vitro dormancy models to identify extracellular matrix (ECM)-related tumor cell-autonomous mechanisms of dormancy in residual tumor cells (RTCs). The study reveals an important role of the glycosylation of proteoglycans in sustaining dormancy and opens the door to leverage this biology to eliminate RTCs and prevent recurrence.

Study Objectives: Numerous studies have emphasized the significance of nutrition on the quality of sleep, but few have evaluated the effect of various coexisting dietary markers on middle-aged adults. We assessed the association between sleep quality and a large array of dietary markers among middle-aged, community-dwelling participants.

Methods: Data from the first, second, and third follow-ups of CoLaus|PsyCoLaus, a population-based study in Lausanne, Switzerland, was used.
