One undescribed glycoside benzofuran derivative and a new -hydroxybenzoate glycoside from the leaves of Tutcher.

One undescribed benzofuran derivative (illiciumphenolicacid A, ) and one new phenolic glycoside (illiciumphenolicacid B, ), together with six known compounds () were isolated from the leaves of Tutcher. Their structures were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic data (UV, IR, HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR). In addition, we determined the -glucosidase inhibitory activity of the isolates using spectrophotometric methods. Compared with the positive control acarbose (IC 306.2 ± 4.1 M), compounds were shown to be moderate potential -glucosidase inhibitory activity with IC values in the range 380-655 M.
