Littoral cell angioma is a benign vascular tumour of the spleen, and malign transformation is seldom. The angioma is associated with a high risk of simultaneous occurrence of other primary cancers, and it is of utmost importance to perform extensive diagnostic investigations to detect other cancers. Definitive treatment of littoral cell angioma is surgical resection of the spleen. This is a unique case report about a 73-year-old woman who had a simultaneous adenocarcinoma of the colon and a gastrointestinal stromal tumour. She underwent simultaneous splenectomy with colonic and gastric resection.

Dual-comb photoacoustic spectroscopy (DC-PAS) advances spectral measurements by offering high-sensitivity and compact size in a wavelength-independent manner. Here, we present a novel cantilever-enhanced DC-PAS scheme, employing a high-sensitivity fiber-optic acoustic sensor based on an optical cantilever and a non-resonant photoacoustic cell (PAC) featuring a flat-response characteristic. The dual comb is down-converted to the audio frequency range, and the resulting multiheterodyne sound waves from the photoacoustic effect, are mapped into the response frequency region of the optical cantilever microphone.

Therefore, although well-demonstrated using various abdominal imaging modalities, radiologists tend to be less familiar with splenic diseases, making interpretation challenging. This study aimed to review common and uncommon splenic diseases and illustrate the multimodal imaging (including ultrasonography, CT, MRI, and PET/CT) features of these lesions in correlation with their histopathology.

A standard measuring gas cell used in absorption spectrometers is a cylinder enclosed by two transparent windows. The Fabry-Perot effects caused by multiple reflections of terahertz waves between these windows produce significant variations in the transmitted radiation intensity. Therefore, the Fabry-Perot effects should be taken into account to correctly measure absorption spectra in Bouguer law-based absorption spectroscopy.

Introduction: Littoral cell angioma (LCA) is a new subtype of vascular tumor, which has been reported infrequently worldwide. It is associated with visceral malignancies and other immunologic conditions.
Clinical Case: We present a case of a 70-year-old Caucasian male with a 6-year history of myelodysplastic syndrome, which was investigated for splenomegaly and pancytopenia.
