Despite the extensive developments of flexible capacitive pressure sensors, it is still elusive to simultaneously achieve excellent linearity over a broad pressure range, high sensitivity, and ultrahigh pressure resolution under large pressure preloads. Here, we present a programmable fabrication method for microstructures to integrate an ultrathin ionic layer. The resulting optimized sensor exhibits a sensitivity of 33.7 kPa over a linear range of 1700 kPa, a detection limit of 0.36 Pa, and a pressure resolution of 0.00725% under the pressure of 2000 kPa. Taken together with rapid response/recovery and excellent repeatability, the sensor is applied to subtle pulse detection, interactive robotic hand, and ultrahigh-resolution smart weight scale/chair. The proposed fabrication approaches and design toolkit from this work can also be leveraged to easily tune the pressure sensor performance for varying target applications and open up opportunities to create other iontronic sensors.

Aims: To investigate the relationship between nocturia and values measured using a novel multifunctional portable urine-measuring device.
Methods: Thirty-five older men with nocturia and/or high-normal or high blood pressure were enrolled to record measurements on one full day (24 h) and two nights using the portable device during urination. Participants used a semi-conical cup with a small hole equipped with a conductivity sensor, temperature sensor, and timer to measure urine volume, salt content, urine temperature, and urination speed.

Cupric oxide (CuO) is a promising p-type semiconducting oxide used in many critical fields, such as energy conversion and storage, and gas sensors, which is attributed to its unique optoelectrical properties and cost-effectiveness. This work successfully deposited amorphous, pinhole-free, ultrathin CuO films using atmospheric pressure spatial atomic layer deposition (SALD) with copper(II) acetylacetonate and ozone as precursors. The growth rate increased from 0.

Aim: To measure the optimal anterior chamber pressure (ACP) for safe phacoemulsification using a new tube chamber system with internal pressure measurement function in the porcine eye.
Methods: The 20-gauge and 21-gauge straight tips with yellow and orange sleeves, respectively, were covered by a test chamber combined with a pressure sensor for measuring ACP. This was measured for 20s from 10s after starting aspiration in the linear mode using vacuum levels of 200 and 150 mm Hg with a 20-gauge tip, and 300 and 250 mm Hg with a 21-gauge tip.

The inhibition of methane-air explosions by air jet-driven NaHCO powders and porous barriers was investigated in this study. Flame images and overpressure data were recorded using high-speed cameras and pressure sensors. The inhibition mechanism of NaHCO powder was further investigated using the reaction mechanism of sodium-containing substances and methane combustion.

Context: "Nanostructure of graphene-reinforced with polymethyl methacrylate" (PMMA-G), and vice versa, is investigated using its molecular structure, in the present work. The PMMA-G nanostructure was constructed by bonding PMMA with graphene nanosheet in a sense to get three different configurations. Each configuration consisted of polymeric structures with three degrees of polymerization (such as monomers, dimers, and trimers polymers, respectively).
