Aim: To evaluate the quality of nursing clinical placement among nursing students.
Design: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study.
Methods: Two hundred eighty two nursing student completed self-administered, online questionnaires. The questionnaire assessed participants' socio-demographic data, and the quality of their clinical placement.
Results: The students had a high mean score for the overall satisfaction of their clinical training placement with high mean score for the item of "patient safety was fundamental to the work of the units" and the item of "I anticipate being able to apply my learning from this placement," while the lowest mean score was related to "This placement was a good learning environment" and "Staff were willing to work with students." Patient or Public Contribution: Quality of clinical placement is critical for improving the everyday quality of care for patients who are in desperate need of caregivers with professional knowledge and skills.

Background: There is growing interest in use of transcutaneous spinal stimulation (TSS) for people with neurologic conditions both to augment volitional control (by facilitating motoneuron excitability), and to decrease spasticity (by activating inhibitory networks). Various electrode montages are used during TSS, with little understanding of how electrode position influences spinal circuit activation. We sought to identify the thoracolumbar electrode montage associated with the most robust activation of spinal circuits by comparing posterior root-muscle reflexes (PRM reflexes) elicited by 6 montages.

Background: The use of emergency tourniquets among military personnel has helped to dramatically reduce battlefield deaths and has recently gained popularity in the civilian sector. Yet, even well-trained individuals can find it difficult to assess proper tourniquet application. Emergency tourniquets are typically deemed sufficiently tightened through cursory visual confirmation or pulse assessment.

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective treatment for depression but is often associated with cognitive side effects. In patients, ECT-induced electric field (E-field) strength across brain regions varies significantly due to anatomical differences, which may explain individual differences in cognitive side effects. We examined the relationship between regional E-field strength and change in verbal fluency score (i.

Background: This study aimed to analyze the files of patients treated using PFN-A or INTERTAN intramedullary nails to reveal additional superiorities or disadvantageous factors for selecting the better intramedullary fixation method in patients presenting with intertrochanteric femur fractures.
Methods: In this retrospective study, the files of the patients who were operated on for intertrochanteric femur fractures using intramedullary fixation methods between September 2010 and June 2015 in the Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic, Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, were reviewed. The data including age, gender, chronic diseases, causes of fractures, fracture classification based on Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO), the nail type (long or short), the interval between trauma and surgery, duration of anesthesia and surgery, hospitalization duration, amount of blood transfusion, the Tip-Apex Distance (TAD) in postoperative radiographs, functional outcomes according to Harris Hip Score (HHS) and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), postoperative complications, need for revision, and mortality was noted.
Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 resulted in restrictions in didactic and clinical rotations while sites denied entry or limited numbers of nursing student placements to decrease impact staff nurse workload. Pandemic incidences of hospital-acquired infections, central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), and catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) increased, underscoring the importance of increasing workforce-ready nurses.
Method: To increase the number of nursing students permitted into the hospital, hospital and school administrators devised the nurse assist program (NAP), which is a collaborative approach developed to address increased staff workloads and personnel shortages and facilitate student return to clinical settings.
