Eye diseases can cause great inconvenience to people's daily life; therefore, it is necessary to study the causes of ocular diseases and related physiological processes. Raman spectroscopic imaging (RSI) is a non-destructive, non-contact detection technique with the advantages of label-free, non-invasive and highly specific. Compared with other mature imaging technologies, RSI can provide real-time molecular information and high-resolution imaging at relatively low cost, making it very suitable for quantitative detection of biological molecules. RSI can reflect the overall situation of the sample, revealing the content distribution of the same substance in different areas of the sample. This review focuses on the recent advances in ophthalmology, with particular emphasis on the powerful use of RSI techniques, as well as its combination with other imaging techniques. Finally, we prospect the wider application and future potential of RSI approaches in ophthalmology.

Reaction of Co(NCS) with 4-methyl-pyridine in water leads to the formation of single crystals of the title compound, [Co(NCS)(CHN)] . The asymmetric unit consists of two crystallographically independent thio-cyanate anions and two crystallographically independent 4-methyl-pyridine coligands in general positions, as well as of two different Co cations, of which one is located on a twofold rotational axis, whereas the second occupies a center of inversion. The methyl H atoms in both 4-methyl-pyridine ligands are disordered and were refined using a split model.

Contamination of water resources by artificial coloring agents and the increasing incidence of bacterial illnesses are two significant environmental and public health issues that are getting worse day by day. Traditional treatment techniques frequently fail to address these problems adequately in a sustainable and environmental friendly way. In response, our study presents a novel photocatalyst that demonstrates superior photodegradation capability and antibacterial qualities in catering the above issues.

Two fibre optic probes were custom designed to perform Raman and near-infrared spectroscopic measurements. Our long-term objective is to develop a non-destructive tool able to collect data in hard-to-access locations for real-time analysis or diagnostic purposes. This study evaluated the quantitative performances of Probe A and Probe B using model pharmaceutical tablets.

Tungsten oxide (WO) electrochromic devices are obtaining increasing interest due to their color change and thermal regulation. However, most previous work focuses on the absorption or transmission spectra of materials, rather than the optical parameters evolution in full spectrum in the electrochromic processes. Herein, we developed a systematic protocol of ex situ methods to clarify the evolutions of subtle structure changes, Raman vibration modes, and optical parameters of WO thin films in electrochromic processes as stimulated by dosage-dependent Li insertion.

Mild hypophosphatasia (HPP) can be difficult to distinguish from other bone disorders in the absence of typical symptoms such as the premature loss of primary teeth. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the crystallinity of hydroxyapatite (HAp) and the three-dimensional structure of collagen in HPP teeth at the molecular level and to search for new biomarkers of HPP. Raman spectroscopy was used to investigate the molecular structure, composition, and mechanical properties of primary teeth from healthy individuals and patients with HPP.
