, a new species of Orchidaceae from Hainan Island, China, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically similar to , and with dwarf habits, scarcely opening flowers, elongated fruit stems, curved and fleshy perianth tubes and similar columns and lips, but can be easily distinguished from them by having a pair of lateral wings bent outwards at the apex of the column and lateral wings with acuminate tips lower than the anther. According to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria, the new species is assessed as Endangered (EN). The plastome of is greatly reduced and reconfigured with approximately 30876 bp in size and 25.36% in GC content. Morphological characteristics and molecular phylogenetic results based on chloroplast gene sequences support the recognition of as a new species within .

Investigations of the spatial-temporal variations of nutrients within mangrove coastal zones are essential for assessing the environmental status of an aquatic ecosystems. However, major processes controlling nitrate cycle along the submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) pathway from the mangrove areas to adjacent tidal creek remain underexplored. A time series measurement over a 25 h tidal cycle was conducted in Qinglan Bay tidal creek (Hainan Island, China).

As the third largest class of dyes in the world, triphenylmethane dyes are widely applied in colorimetric sensing. However, triphenylmethane dyes are commonly nonfluorescent, which limits their sensing applications. It is worthwhile to study the fluorescence off/on control of triphenylmethane dyes and promote the applications of triphenylmethane dyes in sensing technology.

Tourism, as an important manifestation of urbanization, is becoming increasingly popular. Although it offers numerous advantages for the local community, it also exerts a multifaceted impact on local wildlife. Previous research on the effects of tourism has mainly focused on protected areas or tourist spots, rarely considering the surrounding non-tourist attraction areas.

Emerging organophosphate flame retardants (E-OPFRs) are a new class of pollutants that have attracted increasing attention, but their bioaccumulation patterns and trophodynamic behaviors in aquatic food webs still need to be validated by comparison with legacy OPFRs (L-OPFRs). In this study, we simultaneously investigated the bioaccumulation, trophic transfer, and dietary exposure of 8 E-OPFRs and 10 L-OPFRs in a tropical estuarine food web from Hainan Island, China. Notably, the ΣL-OPFRs concentration (16.

As one of the neonicotinoid insecticides, thiacloprid (THI) is extensively used in agriculture and frequently detected in various aquatic environments, posing a potential threat to aquatic organisms. However, the effects of THI exposure on aquatic turtles remain unknown. In this study, we focused on investigating whether THI has a toxic effect on the gut-liver axis in aquatic turtles.
