Aquilegia×miniana (J.F.Macbr. & Payson) Cronk, is the correct name for the hybrid S.Watson × A.formosaFisch. & DC.var.formosa. In 1916 Payson and Macbride, while exploring the mountains of Idaho, found populations of that were pink in flower colour and appeared intermediate between the yellow-flowered and red-flowered . They named these plants A.flavescensvar.miniana J.F.Macbr. & Payson. There has been uncertainty over whether their type collections (in GH, RM, MO, US, E, CM, CAS, NY) do indeed represent hybrids or pink-flowered morphs of . Using a Wells diagram, the holotype (in the Gray Herbarium of Harvard University) is shown to be intermediate, allowing its identification as a clear hybrid. However, some of the isotype material is indistinguishable from . The holotype matches material from British Columbia that has been determined to be of hybrid origin using molecular and morphological data. A.flavescensvar.miniana J.F.Macbr. & Payson is, therefore, an available name for the hybrid, which is here raised to the status of hybrid binomial.

Background: Minimally invasive liver surgery (MILS) is superior to open surgery when considering decreased blood loss, fewer complications, shorter hospital stay, and similar or improved oncologic outcomes. However, operative limitations in laparoscopic hepatectomy have curved its applicability and momentum of complex minimally invasive liver surgery. Transitioning to robotic hepatectomy may bridge this complexity gap.

A peptide corresponding to a 13-residue segment of the human protein semenogelin I has been shown to generate a hydrogel consisting of amyloid-like fibrils. The relative chemical diversity (compared to synthetic sequences) with 11 distinct amino acids makes this peptide (P0) an ideal candidate for investigating the role of individual residues in gelation. Herein, the terminal residues have been sequentially removed to furnish a series of truncated peptides, P1-P10, ranging from 12 to 3 residues in length.

Differences in survival and morbidity among treatment options (ablation, surgical resection, and transplant) for early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have been well studied. Additional understanding of the costs of such care would help to identify drivers of high costs and potential barriers to care delivery. The purpose of this article was to quantify total and patient out-of-pocket costs for ablation, surgical resection, and transplant in the management of early-stage HCC and to identify factors predictive of these costs.
