To resolve poor accumulation caused by systemic administration, injectable and responsive hydrogels are the prospective drug delivery systems for localized tumor treatment, owning to negligible invasiveness and accurate administration. Herein, an injectable hydrogel, based on dopamine (DA) crosslinked hyaluronic acid and BiSe nanosheets (NSs) loading with doxorubicin (DOX) coated with polydopamine (BiSe-DOX@PDA), was developed for synergistic chem-photothermal cancer therapy. The ultrathin functional BiSe-DOX@PDA NSs could be responsive to the weak acidic condition and photothermal effect under NIR laser irradiation, achieving controlled release of DOX. Moreover, nanocomposite hydrogel based on hyaluronic acid matrix could be precisely administrated through intratumoral injection since its injectability and self-healing capacity, remaining at injected sites for at least 12 days. Furthermore, the excellent therapeutics effect of BiSe-DOX@PDA nanocomposite hydrogel was demonstrated on 4 T1 xenograft tumor with outstanding injectability and negligible systemic side-effect. In short, the construction of BiSe-DOX@PDA nanocomposite hydrogel paves a prospective path for local treatment of cancers.

In such an era of information explosion, improving the level of information security is still a challenging task. Self-erasing luminescent hydrogels are becoming ideal candidates for improving the level of information security with simple encryption and decryption methods. Herein, a lanthanide-polyoxometalate-based self-erasing luminescent hydrogel with time-dependent and resilient properties was constructed through a covalent crosslinked network constructed with polyacrylamide and a non-covalent crosslinked network constructed with [2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethyl ammonium chloride/NaDyWO, along with doping urease.

Unlabelled: Fibroblasts are considered a key player in the wound healing process. Although this cellular family is constituted by several distinct subtypes, dermal fibroblasts are crucial thanks to their ability to secrete pro-regenerative growth factors, extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins and their immune and anti-inflammatory role. Sophorolipids (SL), sophorosides (SS) and glucolipids (G), mono-unsaturated (C18:1) or saturated (C18:0), glycolipids derived from microbial fermentation of wild type or engineered yeast , constitute a novel sustainable class of bio-based chemicals with interesting physicochemical characteristics, which allow them to form soft diverse structures from hydrogels to vesicles, micelles or complex coacervates with potential interest in skin regeneration applications.

Drug repurposing has potential to improve outcomes for high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC). Repurposing drugs with PARP family binding activity may produce cytotoxic effects through the multiple mechanisms of PARP including DNA repair, cell-cycle regulation, and apoptosis. The aim of this study was to determine existing drugs that have PARP family binding activity and can be repurposed for treatment of HGSOC.

The advent of bioprinting has enabled the creation of precise three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures suitable for biomimetic in vitro models. In this study, we developed a novel protocol for 3D printing methacrylated collagen (ColMa, or PhotoCol®) combined with tendon stem/progenitor cells (hTSPCs) derived from human tendon explants. Although pure ColMa has not previously been proposed as a printable hydrogel, this paper outlines a robust and highly reproducible pipeline for bioprinting this material.

Photocrosslinkable hydrogels based on hyaluronic acid are promising biomaterials high in demand in tissue engineering. Typically, hydrogels are photocured under the action of UV or blue light strongly absorbed by biotissues, which limits prototyping under living organism conditions. To overcome this limitation, we propose the derivatives of well-known photosensitizers, namely chlorin , chlorin and phthalocyanine, as those for radical polymerization in the transparency window of biotissues.
