Two polysaccharides, named APS2-I and APS3-I, were purified from the water extract of Radix Astragali. The average molecular weight of APS2-I was 1.96 × 10 Da and composed of Man, Rha, GlcA, GalA, Glc, Gal, Xyl, and Ara in a molar ratio of 2.3:4.8:1.7:14.0:5.8:11.7:2.8:12.6, while the average molecular weight of APS3-I was 3.91 × 10 Da and composed of Rha, GalA, Glc, Gal, and Ara in a molar ratio of 0.8:2.3:0.8:2.3:4.1. Biological evaluation showed APS2-I and APS3-I had significant antioxidant activity and myocardial protection activity. Furthermore, total polysaccharide treatment could significantly enhance hemodynamic parameters and improve cardiac function in rat ischemia and reperfusion isolated heart models. These results provided important information for the clinical application of APS in the field of cardiovascular disease and implied that Astragalus polysaccharides (APS) could be considered as a reference for the quality control of Radix Astragali.

This study aims to establish a rapid and non-destructive method for recognizing the origins and cultivation patterns of Astragali Radix. A hyperspectral imaging system(spectral ranges: 400-1 000 nm, 900-1 700 nm; detection time: 15 s) was used to examine the samples of Astragali Radix with different origins and cultivation patterns. The collected hyperspectral datasets were highly correlated and numerous, which required the establishment of stable and reliable dimension reduction and classification models.

Limited research investigating the impact of pesticides on antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and viral community in the gut of wild animals. In this study, we employed metagenomic to investigate the effects of glyphosate and spinetoram on the gut viral communities, ARGs, and their interactions in a key wild pollinator, bumblebees. The results showed that both 2.

Background: Given their importance as a metric for health care evaluation, this study's aim was to evaluate the rates of surgical and catheter reinterventions for children with functionally single-ventricle (f-SV) congenital heart disease (CHD) undergoing staged palliation.
Methods: We undertook a retrospective cohort study of children born with f-SV CHD between 2000 and 2018 in England and Wales, using the national registry, with survival ascertained in 2020. Competing risk analysis was used to describe the incidence of additional procedures that occurred first, during follow-up, accounting for competing events of death or transplantation.
