Case: A 6-year-old girl who had midshaft forearm fractures treated conservatively had volar distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) instability caused by radial malunion at the 1-year follow-up. Corrective osteotomy was planned using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on computed tomography images. According to the analysis, the radial bone had an 8° apex volar deformation in the sagittal plane. Corrective osteotomy was performed based on preoperative planning. After surgery, the patient regained full function of her right forearm without volar DRUJ instability.
Conclusion: This case report shows that corrective osteotomy with 3D CAD analysis can help surgeons plan and accurately correct malunion.

Background: Calcaneal fracture malunion (CFM) commonly occurs with multiple pathologic changes and progressive pain and difficulty walking. The purpose of this study was to propose a modified 3-plane joint-preserving osteotomy for the treatment of CFM with subtalar joint incongruence, and to compare its efficacy to subtalar arthrodesis.
Methods: A retrospective comparative analysis of the data of 56 patients with CFM admitted from January 2017 to December 2022 was performed.

After open-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO), the patella is displaced distally, causing patellofemoral joint degeneration. The objective of this study was to ascertain whether the combination of OWHTO and lateral retinacular release (LRR) can prevent articular cartilage degeneration of the patellofemoral joint using magnetic resonance imaging T2 mapping. This study included 37 patients (37 knees) who underwent OWHTO alone (OWHTO group) and 37 patients (37 knees) who underwent OWHTO with LRR (OWHTO + LRR group) with a correction angle of <10° for varus knee osteoarthritis.

: Surgery for adolescent idiopathic deformities is often aimed at improving aesthetic appearance, striving for the best possible correction. However, severe and rigid scoliotic curves not only present aesthetic issues but can also compromise cardiopulmonary health and cause early neurological impairment due to spinal cord compression, posing significant risks of morbidity and mortality if untreated. Conservative treatments are ineffective for severe curves, defined by scoliotic angles over 70° and flexibility below 30% on lateral bending X-rays.
