A novel Rh-catalyzed cascade reaction of pyridotriazoles with iodonium ylides is reported. This one-pot procedure involves a triazole-directed -position C-H carbene insertion, followed by intramolecular denitrogenation annulation. It was noteworthy that this reaction provided straightforward access to 1-isochromene frameworks with excellent yields (up to 94% yield).

An innovative colorimetric sensing strategy was developed for the detection of glucose by the integration of glucose aptamer, glucose oxidase (GOx), and horseradish peroxidase (HRP), termed aptamer proximal enzyme cascade reactions (APECR). In the presence of glucose, aptamer binding enables GOx to catalyze glucose oxidation into HO efficiently. Subsequently, the adjacent HRP catalyzes the oxidation of the peroxidase substrate, 2,2'-biazobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), utilizing the generated HO, resulting in a distinct color change.

The development of straightforward synthetic methods for photoactive polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that avoid Pd-catalyzed or radical-based processes remains a challenge. Such methods are essential to reducing the cost and environmental impact of organic photodevices. In this work, we present a one-pot synthetic approach for creating novel bipolar PAHs with extended π-conjugation, which are not accessible via conventional Pd-catalyzed routes.

However, its translational potential is hindered by adverse effects stemming from the invasive implantation of optical fibers into the brain. In this study, we have developed a non-invasive optogenetics approach, utilizing focused ultrasound-triggered mechanoluminescent nanotransducers to enable remote photon delivery deep in the brain for genetically targeted neuromodulation.

Radical-mediated dearomatization strategies offer a blueprint for building value-added and synthetically valuable three-dimensional skeletons from readily available aromatic starting materials. Herein, we report a novel strategy by leveraging benzene-linked O-oxime esters as triply functionalized precursors to form two distinct persistent radicals under a chemodivergent pathway. These radicals then couple with a cyclohexadienyl radical for either carboamination or carbo-aminoalkylation.

Long COVID is an often-debilitating condition with severe, multisystem symptoms that can persist for weeks or months and increase the risk of various diseases. Currently, there is a lack of diagnostic tools for Long COVID in clinical practice. Therefore, this study utilizes plasma proteomics and metabolomics technologies to understand the molecular profile and pathophysiological mechanisms of Long COVID, providing clinical evidence for the development of potential biomarkers.
