Introduction: Acute toxic leukoencephalopathy (ATL) is a rare complication of cancer treatment, with symptoms varying from mild cognitive impairment to coma. Recognition and management of ATL are important because in most cases, the cessation of the responsible agent is essential.

Case Report: We report a case of a 57-year-old male with relapsed right colon cancer who had multiple steps of chemotherapy, admitted to the emergency department (ED) with confusion and inability to talk, 4 days after FOLFIRI and bevacizumab treatment. To exclude cerebrovascular events cranial computed tomography and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging were evaluated. There was bilateral and symmetric diffusion restriction on white matter, which was consistent with ATL.

Management And Outcome: Supportive treatment such as optimization of blood pressure and metabolic control was applied since there is no specific treatment for ATL other than cessation of the responsible agents. 12 days after the admission to the ED his neurologic symptoms were normalized and there was no diffusion restriction on control imaging.

Discussion: ATL is a rare complication of cancer treatment and responsible agents are increasing in number due to the development of cancer treatment. ATL is associated with drugs that are used frequently such as 5-fluorouracil. ATL is mostly reversible, but the progression of neurologic symptoms was also reported. The diagnosis and cessation of the responsible agent are important in management.

Study Objectives: Cancer-related fatigue is one of the most common symptoms in cancer survivors. Cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) can improve fatigue, but mechanisms are unclear. This secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial evaluated whether CBT-I led to a significant improvement in fatigue, accounting for change in comorbid symptoms of insomnia, perceived cognitive impairment (PCI), anxiety, and depression.

The efficacy of photodynamic treatment (PDT) against deep-seated tumor is hindered by low penetration depth of light as well as hypoxic conditions which prevails in tumor. To overcome this limitation, Near-infrared (NIR) absorbing photosensitizers have been investigated actively. In the present study we evaluated the PDT efficacy of an NIR absorbing chlorophyll derivative 'Cycloimide Purpurin-18 (CIPp-18)' in Human Breast carcinoma (MCF-7) and cervical adenocarcinoma (Hela) cells under normoxic and hypoxic conditions.

Liver cancer poses a global health challenge with limited therapeutic options. Notably, the limited success of current therapies in patients with primary liver cancers (PLCs) may be attributed to the high heterogeneity of both hepatocellular carcinoma (HCCs) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCAs). This heterogeneity evolves over time as tumor-initiating stem cells, or cancer stem cells (CSCs), undergo (epi)genetic alterations or encounter microenvironmental changes within the tumor microenvironment.

Linking Long ncRNA to the Diagnosis, Pathogenesis, and Prognosis of Esophageal Cancer.

Esophageal cancer is a common and often deadly malignancy, with treatment success depending largely on the stage at the time of diagnosis. Recently, studies have examined the role of non-coding RNAs in esophageal cancer pathogenesis, prognosis and therapy. This perspective specifically examines interactions long non-coding RNAs have with other RNA molecules in various facets of esophageal cancer.

The surgical risk is higher for obese patients undergoing laparoscopic left hemicolectomy. To enhance the surgical safety and efficacy for obese patients, we have innovatively integrated the advantages of various surgical approaches to modify a pancreas-guided C-shaped surgical procedure. The safety and quality were assessed through a retrospective analysis.
